Trenton Luera shares three recruiting lessons from five years in high school and junior college: highlight films beat raw stats, you have to market yourself to coaches instead of waiting to be found, and recruiting is a volume game where you contact hundreds or thousands of coaches hoping one responds.

Here are the three key realizations that helped me get a hundred times the interest from college coaches. First was highlights are everything. Everybody thinks stats is important. Touchdowns, receptions. No, none of that matters. It's all about how you look on film. If you're able to show that you can play at a high level, coaches will recruit you. Number two is that you need to put yourself out there. Everybody thinks that, hey, if I'm good enough, college coaches will contact me. That's completely wrong. You need to be putting yourself out there yourself. If you don't, no one will. Number three is that all it takes is one? It's a volume game. You need to reach out to hundreds if not thousands of coaches in hopes that just one respond to you and it's the perfect school for you. These are realizations that I had throughout my recruiting process that lasted five years of high school in Juco. And I'm passing along to you, hopefully that you can take this into your own recruiting process and have way better results than I did with mine. So if this helped you, feel free to give me a follow. I'm putting out recruiting advice like this on the daily.
