This YouTube clip (by Trenton Luera) defines "mega camps" as camps with 10+ college programs (speaker notes examples up to ~50 colleges) and argues they are worth attending. Practical tips given: contact attending college coaches before the camp so they recognize you, be aggressive during limited reps, and wear something distinctive so you stand out among many participants.

So what are mega camps? Are they worth it and how can you make the most of it? Mega camps are camps with 10 plus colleges, usually more than that. I've been to medicamps where there were 50 colleges, but on top of that, there are a lot of kids that attend that. So with there being a lot of kids, is it even worth it to go to in the first place? My take is, yeah, it's definitely worth it. I've been to some of them and I always had a positive experience. You just need to know what you're walking into. Ultimately, you're not going to get a lot of reps. I've heard stories of kids maybe getting one or two reps in one on one just because they can only do so much in that amount of time. So the reps that you do get, you have to be aggressive with them. And most importantly, how can you even make the most of it? Now again, you need to make sure that you're taking care of the reps that you get when you're on the camp. Make sure that you stand out in front of everybody else. The first thing I recommend is before the camp even starts, reach out to all the schools that you know are going to be attending. Reach out to all the coaches at their schools and let them know that you look forward to meeting them at the camp. You should hopefully get a couple responses. The good thing is now that they recognize your name, they should hopefully look out for you at the camp. Now you have a leg up on everybody else out there on the day of the camp. You're going to want to make sure to wear something unique. The last thing you want to do is just blend in with everybody else. Whether that's some kind of head.
