A personal narrative by a student-athlete describing how persistent direct messaging (DMing) college coaches led to a recruitment connection. The speaker recounts contacting a D3 coach via Twitter DMs who later moved to higher-level programs (D1 Group of Five, then with Deion, and eventually at Colorado), establishing a relationship that produced the speaker's first offer.

This is why you should never ignore a college coach. Because I had one coach that offered me as a senior who was at a D3 school, then the next year ended up at a D1 group of five school. Then the following year was with Deion and then now is at the school behind me over at Colorado. And this all started going into my senior year. I was on Twitter DMing coaches just happened to reach out to this one D3 coach because I was just a DM animal. DMing all the time school 2am didn't matter. I was sending DMs trying to riz up college coaches or something. Anyway, this coach replies back to me, says he likes my film. I get pumped because, you know, I'm just a kid trying to figure out how to get recruited. And so we're going back and forth. He tells me that he actually played at Washington State. And so I tell him, oh, the quarterback coach I work with, he was at Washington State. Funny enough, they actually played with each other. So he instantly was loving me because, you know, we had that some kind of connection. So we continue to stay in touch and fortunately enough he became my first offer. So obviously there's a big relationship there. We've had a bunch of great conversations and I was even considering a school.
