Short YouTube video by Trenton Luera arguing that playing well alone is not enough to earn college football scholarships; athletes must actively promote their talent to coaches through outreach (email, social media/X, camps, connections) to increase visibility and offers.

The biggest myth when it comes to getting college football scholarships is that playing well will lead coaches to finding you. And the truth is, think about all the other athletes that you've seen play well at your school or other schools near you that didn't end up with the scholarships that you thought they deserved. It's because talent alone will not get you recruited. Coaches have to know about that talent. You need to make it known that you're a valuable piece to their roster, and so you can't get recruited in a vacuum. So what you need to do instead is make sure that your talent is known to these coaches. You need to put yourself out there. Whether it's email, it's X, it's cam camps, or even connections. Whatever you can do to get known by more coaches and ultimately get more interest and get more offers, you should be doing it to maximize your recruiting process.
