Short YouTube clip (uploaded by Trenton Luera) offering recruiting advice for high-school football players: a D1 recruiting staff member recommends recruits contact the lowest-level recruiting staff (recruiting analysts, recruiting assistants, student staff) rather than high-level coaches or coordinators, because lower-level staff filter film and can promote standout players upward. The video also begins with an offer to DM the creator for a free spreadsheet of 6,000+ college coaches' emails.

I talked to a Coach on a D1 recruiting staff and this is what he said that every high school recruit should be doing first before we dive in. If you want a free spreadsheet with 6000 plus college coaches emails, all you have to do is DM me the word recruiting on Instagram. I'll send it to you for free. This D1 coach told me that you should not be reaching out to your recruiting coordinator or your position coach or any high level coaches. You should be reaching out to the lowest level staff possible and in particular on the recruiting staff. People like recruiting analysts, recruiting assistants, students that are on the recruiting staff. Because here's the thing, any of the high level coaches, they have a ton of followers, kids know who they are, so they're going to reach out to him a bunch. He literally told me I don't even want to imagine what my recruiting coordinator's DM inbox looks like. And that ultimately, unless you're a standout kid, you're probably not going to get a response back from them. Instead, you should be reaching out to these lower level people because it's literally their job to filter out the film and then push it up to the top. Plus, they all want to be on a big time recruiting staff and be higher up at some point. So if they can be the guy that finds that one gem that turns their program around and that gets the eyes of the higher level six.
