A short YouTube recruiting-advice video by Trenton Luera advising football recruits to keep highlight tapes short and lead with explosive, position-specific reps so college coaches see impact within the first 30–60 seconds; if a coach isn't impressed quickly they will move on, costing the recruit potential offers.

Your highlight tape is probably costing you offers. Coaches don't care about your music, slow mo or 10 average plays. They care about explosive reps, efficiency and position specific skills in under 60 seconds. So in your highlights you want to cut it short and lead with your best stuff. You don't want to leave anything on the table because that highlight is your first impression to a college coach. If you don't impress in the first 30 to 60 seconds, they're going to go on to the next guy and you're going to be left standing there with no offer, no interest or not even a follow from this coach. So make sure you go back through your highlight video, look at those first 30 to 60 seconds and ask yourself if a college coach came across this randomly, what do you want to learn more about me? Or would he just say eh, it's okay but it's not exactly what we're looking for.
