A short YouTube monologue (by Trenton Luera) describing seven factors the speaker used when choosing a college football program: 1) complete trust in the coaching staff, 2) having their academic major available, 3) team culture, 4) campus/program atmosphere and support, 5) opportunity to compete for a starting job, 6) offensive/strength fit for their quarterback skills, and 7) personal and player development. The speaker emphasizes these were their personal priorities and that others should form their own list.

In my recruiting process, here are seven things that I looked for in the school. Now, the first one is 100% trust in the staff. To me, if I didn't trust the staff, then it wasn't worth even going to the school in the first place because that's just going to be a miserable experience. The second one was my major. For me, academics was a big reason why I was wanting to go to college in the first place. So making sure to have my major was a big piece of that. The third thing was culture. Now, this one is really hard to figure out because you're not even going to the school before you decide that. So the way I did that was on my visit. I talked to as many of the players as possible and got a good feel for them. The fourth thing was the atmosphere. Now, this is different from culture because this is the entire school. Did they actually care about the football program? Were they supporting the football program? Because I don't know if you've ever been at a school where this happens, but sometimes schools just hate their football programs for some reason. And I did not want to end up at a school like that. Number five is opportunity. I want the opportunity to be able to compete for a starting job. Now, six is strength fit. I wanted to program in a place that fit my strengths, especially as a quarterback, because not every offense is right for each quarterback. And the last one, arguably the most important one, is I wanted to make me better not just as a player, but also a person. Now, this was my list. Your list should be completely different from.
