Short video by Trenton Luera giving advice to high-school football recruits and their families about reducing stress in the college recruiting process by focusing on controllable actions (effort, system, game plan) rather than uncontrollable metrics like scholarship offers or visit invites. Also offers a free spreadsheet of 6,000+ college coaches' emails via Instagram DM.

Most of the frustration in the recruiting process comes from this one. If you can fix it, if you can just fix your mindset, then it'll make your recruiting way less stressful and you'll be able to control a lot more of it first. Before we dive into that, if you want a free spreadsheet of 6000 plus college coaches emails, all you have to do is DM me the word email on Instagram. I'll send it to you for free. The issue that most families come across is they're tracking the wrong number. Most time people measure the recruiting by scholarship offers, the amount of visit invites that they have, these things that you ultimately can't control as a recruit. And the issue is most people are going to have a ton of scholarship offers. People aren't going to have a ton of visits, and that's totally okay. Instead, you should be measuring stuff inside of your control that, you know, hey, this is what I can influence to help my recruiting. If I get the results that I, you know, are really hoping for, awesome. If I don't, well, hey, I know I did everything that I could in my power to get where I wanted to. But instead, most recruits just focus on these things that are more status, such as, you know, hoping to post a scholarship offer. So that way everyone can see it instead of just going through the process as it is, an actual process and following a system, a game plan that hopefully will get them to where they want to go and just focusing on the things again that they control. I mean, I really can't say it anymore.
