To a D1 recruiter the other day, and it completely changed the way that I view recruiting. He told me that he only watches the first 30 seconds max. That means that your first few plays on your highlights have to catch a coach's attention. Otherwise he'll just get passed up and they'll go to the next guy. There are tens of thousands recruits out there that are qualified to play at a D1 program, so you have to stand out. Otherwise they'll just go to the next guy because they don't have all the time in the world. I see this mistake amongst too many recruits. You have to order your plays from best to worst. Otherwise, if you're trying to save stuff for later, it's just never going to get seen in the first place. That's why highlight tapes that are eight minutes or 10 minutes long that you see from five stars or four stars aren't really going to get you recruited as well as you think they are. Just because, hey, this guy is getting ranked. And all this attention on all these offers. They're doing that because, yeah, they have a ton of highlights, but coaches aren't even watching their highlight tape in the first place. They're watching their game tape because they're trying to make sure that they're making the right choice when deciding to offer them the first place. On top of that, a coach that knows that they.
