A short first-person YouTube clip by Trenton Luera (Feb 6, 2024) describing a three-step process he used to attract attention from college football coaches: (1) mass direct messages on Twitter linking highlights; (2) frequent Twitter posting (recommendation: at least twice per week) to leverage the algorithm; and (3) attending recruiting camps. He also offers a free spreadsheet of 6,000 college coaches' emails via Instagram DM (send the word "coaches"). The message emphasizes persistence and using volume/visibility rather than elite film or stats.

Three step process I'm going to share with you is how I was able to talk to hundreds of coaches without any crazy stats, film or even any stars. And the second step is the biggest piece that most recruits are missing. But before we dive into this, first, if you want a free spreadsheet with 6000 college coaches emails, all you have to do is DM me the word coaches on Instagram and I'll send it to you for free. First thing I did was send thousands and thousands of DMs on Twitter. Twitter is where 90% of recruiting happens and DMs are a great way to get directly in front of college coaches. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, just shorten to the point and linking your highlights so that way they can evaluate you and make that decision whether they're going to recruit you or not. It's ultimately a numbers game, which is why I had to send thousands and thousands of DMs to get the interest in offers that I got. The second piece was I posted on Twitter a lot. Now unfortunately I wish I would have posted more because it resulted in a ton of solid interest by using the algorithm and letting it push to the coaches that actually wanted to see me. But my recommendation is at least try to post two times per week. If you can do more then do more. The third piece is I went to a ton of camps and honestly I didn't even go to as many as I wish I would gotten. If you're a junior or senior then I recommend.
