Trenton Luera (former college quarterback) advises recruits which college football staff to contact to increase chances of being recruited. He recommends prioritizing recruiting staff—especially recruiting analysts—because they review film and forward prospects to coordinators; also suggests contacting interns and coordinators and avoiding busy position coaches, coordinators, and head coaches who receive many DMs.

Exactly what coaches you should be reaching out to to get recruited. Now, this is a common question I get about what coaches should I be reaching out to to get recruited? Which coaches are actually worth the time to reach out to? Now, if you don't know who I am, I'm Trenton Luera. I'm a former college quarterback. I help recruits. Just like you get college football scholarships, the number one coach that you want to reach out to is someone on the recruiting staff. And if it's anyone out of the recruiting staff, it's a recruiting analyst. Because it's literally their job to go through the film, figure out who's the best of that film, and then push it up to the recruiting coordinator and so on. Because too many people waste their time trying to message position coaches, coordinators, head coaches, and then they get no responses because ultimately they just don't have time to check out all the DMS that they're getting. So instead, especially at the D1 level, shoot for the guys lower on the totem pole. They're more likely to respond. They have less followers, they're getting less DMs, way more likely to get a response back or get your film look at, looked at. Now, in general, you're going to want to hit pretty much everyone in recruiting, so that's interns, analysts, coordinators, then, as well as someone.
