A short YouTube monologue (by Trenton Luera) describing the practical hardships of attending a California junior college (juco) football program: lack of dorms and meal plans, limited scholarships especially for out-of-state players, long commutes and added gas costs, and crowded shared housing. The speaker frames these as part of the "juco grind," notes he experienced COVID while at juco for 2.5 years, and closes by inviting viewers to follow for daily recruiting advice.

Going to the California juco in exceeding is one of the toughest things out there. And this is coming from someone who went to a juco football program, dealt with COVID and was there for two and a half years and was still able to get out. The first thing is usually there's no dorms. Now there's a couple California jucos out there that have dorms, but most of them don't at all. So you're having to pay California rents while splitting it with multiple guys in these tiny little shoeboxes. Number two is no meal plan. You're having to cook all your own food. So after practice you're exhausted, stay have to cook. If you don't, then you're just going to lose weight. The third is no scholarships. Now for in state guys, it's not that bad. But if you're out of state, you're probably having to pay thousands and thousands of dollars. Next, you're having to drive everywhere. Your campus isn't that big. There's not a lot on your campus anyway and you might even be living 10 plus minutes away from campus. Plus it adds up with the cost when you throw in gas as well. The last part is rooming in that little shoebox apartment with probably five plus people. I mean, I've heard of crazy situations where there's eight in a two bedroom apartment, but at the end of the day it's all about the juco grind and I wouldn't trade anything for it. I talk about how to get recruited daily, so follow for more.
