No kid who's clearly good enough to play Concho vault but has zero offers. Here's exactly why this happens. Reason number one Nobody knows they exist. Being the best player in your town means nothing if college coaches have never heard of you. Talent without visibility equals no scholarships. Reason number two Terrible social media presence. Their Twitter looks like a middle school made it. Coaches take one look and assume they're not even serious about football. Or even worse, they can't even find their highlights to take a look at. Reason 3 They're waiting to be discovered. If I'm good enough, they'll find me. This is the number one dream killer in recruiting. There are thousands, if not tens of thousands of good players out there. Coaches do not have the time to find everyone. Reason number four Poor communication skills. They can't hold a conversation with coaches or write a proper email. Coaches want leaders who can communicate, not shy kids who mumble. Reason number five unrealistic expectations. They're chasing Division 1 schools when they should be talking to Division 2 and Division 3 programs. Meanwhile, kids with realistic expectations are getting full rides. Reason 6 no follow up strategy. They send one email to a coach or one DM and give up when they don't hear back. Meanwhile, other kids are sending followers.
