Short advice clip (YouTube) by Trenton Luera about how athletes should answer coaches' question "How is your recruiting going?" Main claim: avoid bland answers like "it's going good" — be specific about which coaches/schools you're talking to and how deep the contact is (visits, multiple calls, timelines). Specificity signals genuine interest and can increase a coach's urgency and offers.

Hey, coach, what's up? Recruiting's going good. Hey, Coach. Appreciate you reaching out. I'm actually talking to two schools right now. I'm talking to Coach John over at Alabama University, and I'm talking to Coach Jacob over at Auburn University. Doing well over here. So things are going pretty good. How are things going over at your school? So one of the most common questions that you will get asked by college coaches, how is your recruiting going? And the worst answer, the most bland answer you can answer with is, it's going good. Or you're going to say, hey, I'm talking to a couple schools, or I'm talking to a couple D1 schools. The thing is, everybody else says that, and it just makes you blend in with everyone else. The coach hardly believes that you're talking to Division 1 coaches, so instead, you want to be specific because specificity sells. And so when a coach asks you that question, be specific and tell them, the certain coaches that you're talking to, how in depth the communication has gone. Have you gone on a personal visit? Have you had multiple phone calls with these coaches? Have they told you that they're going to offer you on a certain timeline? Be honest about it, don't make up stuff, but be specific, because that coach is going to recognize that and say, oh, shoot, this guy's actually getting recruited. We need to kind of take their recruiting to the next level for us, otherwise we're going to fall behind. That's going to get you more interest, more offers, ultimately.
