This is one of the major keys when talking to college coach that a lot of recruits miss out on. And again, it's not your fault. You're 16, 17, maybe 18 years old. Nobody's really told you how to go about this recruiting process, so I'm going to share with you. The key is you need to push the conversation forward. I mean, for the most part, yes, a college coach will lead the way. But just having this conversational skill of knowing where you want to take the conversation, what questions you want to ask them, how to go about the right way, it will separate you so much from the rest of the recruits out there, because thinking about the rest of your friends, they aren't really thinking about that stuff, and they're just out there happy to have a conversation. I'm sure you are, too, and I was, too. And believe me, I made plenty of mistakes where I just was going about the conversation, had a handshake, answered a few questions, and that was that. But then I left with nothing. I realized that isn't really going to get me where I want to go, which is ultimately to get a scholarship. And so I learned to push that conversation forward. The easiest way to do this is just asking questions, asking questions to guide you to the answers that you want to know, to lead closer to the truth. If you ask the right questions, if you guide the conversation the right way, it'll just flow a lot smoother. It'll lead to a better conversation, better relationship.
