All right, so something's going on at your high school. You're not getting enough playing time. You don't feel like you're going to get recruited enough. Your high school coach is just hates you for some reason. I totally understand. I went through the exact same kind of mindset process during my high school career. And so today I'm going to talk about transferring high schools. Why you should consider it, maybe why you shouldn't consider it. Talk about how to make that proper decision because it is a big one and I don't want you to do it for the wrong reasons as well as I don't want you to go into a worse situation because than you may already be in. And so if you're new here, I'm Trent Lora. I help families get college football scholarships because I did it for myself. And if you already know what we're all about, super pumped, it's going to be a good one for you, especially if you're considering transferring high schools or maybe you have thought about it and so I'll talk about maybe why you should consider that. Now, the first thing, and this is one of the biggest things I think is just so important in decision making in terms of life, is deciding your goals. And so before you make any kind of decision around, should I transfer, should I not transfer, which high school should I transfer to? You need to decide why would you potentially transfer and what is your ultimate goal? For example, I was actually on an Instagram live the other day and this is why I'm talking about this, because somebody asked me that question, you know, should I transfer high schools as an incoming junior as a running back? And I'm like, that's such a loaded question. Because there's so many things behind that. What is your reason for wanting to transfer? If your reason for transferring is because I want to play college football, I want to go to a high level and I'm not going to get enough playing time or I'm not going to get enough good film at this school, then yeah, absolutely, you should probably transfer. Because if you're not going to get a film at this current school going into your junior year, probably the most biggest one in terms of recruiting, and you have a better chance of this new school and absolutely do it. But if your goal is just, hey, I don't even want to play at the college level, or I don't even care about playing at a college level, but if your goal is more of enjoyment and you really like the high school that you're at, then why would you transfer high schools? And so you need to decide like what's the most most important goal to you? If it's actually play college football, then you need to find the school that's going to actually fit that. Now if your number one priority is to play college football and to get scholarships, to get school paid for and go do that, then I want to talk about your first scholarship. So I run your first scholarship. We help over 100 families get $16 million in scholarship money. So we're pretty good at what we do. Now essentially what we do is we save you a ton of time in the process. We have a done for you exposure machine that sends out over 400 messages per week to college coaches on your son's behalf. On top of that, you also get 24, 7 support to myself and also my team. So any questions you have, responses, camps, what you can think of. If you have a random thought that pops in your head about the recruiting process and you're like, I want to run this by trend, you can literally just message me on your phone and I will get back to you. And the third thing is you get all our playbooks. So I'm talking about transferring high schools right now. You get can get our full playbook on how to make decisions throughout the recruiting process as well. As we're entering camp season right now, we just, I just hopped off a workshop talking about the camp process. We're running a three day workshop where I talk about the entire camp process from how to pick the camps, which camps to go to, how to pick pre frame the coaches before the camps, to actually pay attention to you, to the during camp, what to expect, how to maximize the process all the way to the post camp which we're talking about tomorrow in terms of questions to ask coaches, how to actually turn that into dependential offers and interests and fall for these coaches. So if you want to just skip all the mistakes that you could potentially make throughout the recruitment process and just get actual real results right away, then I recommend you join that. The link below to learn more and book a call with our team is down below. You can do so hope to see you in there. Now I talked about goals and priorities first, but also I just want to talk about that the grass isn't always greener. So understand like the current situation that you're at and assess that clearly. If you're a starter at this school, if you're getting a ton of playing time, if they're feeding you the ball or you know, building defenses around you don't think to transfer just because you feel like you're too good for that school. Now if you're at an extremely small school, that may be an exception. But if you're in an 8 or 9 out of 10 situation that people would dream of, it doesn't always make sense to go to that premier school that's like begging you to get there just because it might give you a little bit of boost in exposure. Because you have to understand that there's fog around those decisions. You don't have all the data to make that accurate decision. While you know exactly the situation that you're in right now. And you know that if you're at 8 or 9 out of 10 situation, it could easily drop to a 2 out of 10 and that would be horrible. And so make sure you're not just get shiny object syndrome because you think that hey, somehow if I transfer this high school is going to fix everything. Because it's ultimately not. And to be honest, you have to understand that the reasons to me that you would transfer to another high school is generally just around playing time. The recruiting process in terms of getting exposure and all that stuff is not really high school dependent. Now if we're talking about a big high school and we're talking about the top IMG team, we're talking about St. John Bosco Modern day schools that I consider are the blue bloods of high school football that, you know me, just saying those names pops in your head of former alumni that are absolutely talented. Unless you are transferring to one of those schools, you are not going to get this huge amount of exposure. I know and we currently work with kids that are surrounded around five star athletes. And though these high schools, you may not necessarily know about them, but these college coaches are coming by all the time and so they have natural exposure, yet they're not getting the attention and offers that they want. My point is when it comes to transferring high schools, just make sure you understand the reason why you're doing it and that you have to understand that just making a change is not always for the best. There's things that you can change outside of just the high schools to get to the ultimate outcome that you want to get to. The next thing from here is being clear on the transfer rules. Now most parents, most families are aware that usually if you transfer you could potentially sit out. Now you want to be clear on what exactly happens when you transfer. So there's a couple of recommendations I have. Number one, look at the rules for your association in terms of what allows you to sit out the minimum amount of time and what is at your disposal? And if you're not getting clear rules, I would suggest that you get in touch with someone to do so before you make that big decision. Because the last thing you want to do is get onto this new school and then you realize you have to sit out five games during your senior year. That can be even more costly than just staying at the school that you're already at. The last little hack I want to share is making sure to communicate ahead of time or with the coaching staff that you're going to plan on joining because there's no reason to just randomly transfer without any communication. You want to let that coaching staff know, hey, I'm planning on transferring to your school as well as have a conversation with them. And ideally this is the parents having a conversation with that coach about what to expect, playing time, all that stuff. Obviously you're not going to get 100% certain on this kind of stuff. You should be careful and cautious about just having a good feel for when they might be lying. But the very least, by having this conversation, you're setting yourself up for a much more successful transition period when you get to that new school. So to wrap it all up, first off, make sure you're clear on the reasons why you want to transfer. And even if you're not considering transferring, I would also go through the process of like, what would transferring do for us? Do we benefit from it in any way? Once you get from there, start figuring out where you might potentially transfer and get in touch with those people, whether it's other players, coaches on that staff. So that way you can get a clear idea what that transition might look like. And then from there just make sure the logistics are handled in terms of transfer rules. You may potentially have to move, which is a big commitment, and so you want to make sure that's all set ahead of time. Again, this is a pretty big decision. And again, I don't generally recommend transferring all the time. There are a good amount of situations that actually make sense. And so just make sure again that you're doing your due diligence prior and just making sure that it's the right decision for you. And again, if you're looking for more direct one on one help, we help you with everything from A to Z in the entire recruiting process as well as deciding, you know, hey, should I transfer, should I not?
