Too many people think that it's just luck to go D1 or that you need some special connections. That's not true at all. Here are the three things that you need to focus on to go D1. Number one is film. You need good film to get recruited and you need really really good film to go D1. It's the first thing that a college coach is going to look at. So if your film is not just absolutely amazing then it needs to continually get better. Number two is unrealistic expectations. I get way too many guys telling me that they're D1 potential but they have no idea what that looks like. Compare your high high school film to someone that is on a D1 roster. Even the walk ons have just absolutely amazing film. If you're not getting recruited by D1 then you either need to do two things. One settle for less, be okay with the fact that you might go to lower level which is totally okay. Or number two get better film. The last thing that a lot of recruits miss out on is lack of exposure. If a coach doesn't know about you then how are you supposed to get offered?
