The difference between PWOs and Walk-ons

High school football recruits and parents, you need to listen to them. Too many people don't know the difference between a scholarship player, a preferred walk on and just a regular normal walk on. And I'm going to tell you the differences first, if you want to save yourself hundreds of hours, then grab my free spreadsheet with 6000 plus college coaches emails. All you have to do is DM me the word D1 on Instagram and I'll send it to you for free. So scholarship is really simple. Most of you probably understand this already. It means you're getting some amount of money or full amount of money towards your tuition, room, boarding, everything essentially for school. Now there is levels to this as if you're going fbs, then you're probably getting a full ride. But if you're going FCs and lower, you're probably getting only partial half, 3/4 maybe full if you're a really good player. Next is a preferred walk on. So the difference between a preferred walk on and a walk on is that a preferred walk on is going to be recruited just like a scholarship player. The coaches are going to reach out to them, they're going to really like him. Just something happens in the recruiting process, whether that's just their board or their current depth chart, that they don't have the scholarships.
