Varsity vs JV

So you're playing high school football and are pretty good, but the thing is you're deciding between whether I should be playing varsity with limited reps or should I play playing with JV and get as many reps as possible. I'll tell you my take as well as what you should do based on your situation. So the first situation I'm going to lay out is if you're a freshman or sophomore and you have that option between going and playing on varsity and potentially getting a decent amount of reps or playing on JV and really balling out. Now it's tough for me to 100 say because it really does depend on the situation, but I think if you're going to be a second stringer on varsity, it makes sense to play up. Yeah, you're not going to get necessarily as much reps, but you're definitely going to play special teams. You're getting used to the speed of the game and you're ultimately going to develop further, especially if the guys above you are seniors and you're going to step in that role immediately the next year. It really does make sense. Plus, even if you do get limited film, you can still use that recruiting probably more.
