All right, so welcome back. If you don't know who I am, I'm Trent Loire. I help families get college football scholarships. And today is going to be an absolute amazing video because the number one place to get recruited is Twitter X, whatever you want to call it, whatever Elon Musk decides to come up with as far as a name for the social media platform. And so today we're going to be talking about best practices to use this platform to get college football scholarships. And before we dive into any of these things, this is specifically for if you're trying to play college football. So if you're playing another sport or trying to get recruited for another sport, this may help you. But just know that the context is specifically for college football. Now, I honestly think how we go about our X strategies is probably the best in the game. I use it a ton in my strategy, get recruited to use X as a way to get in touch with coaches as well as show them my skills without even having much game film. Because I was a backup quarterback, I didn't really have a whole lot of game film. And so I had to use this supplemental video. And X was the best place for me to post it and get the coaches attention and show them that I was an actual legitimate player worth recruiting. And so I've been able to share what's worked for me. We've been able to build off of it, and we've been able to generate over half a million views for our families just using simple videos, nothing too crazy. And we'll talk about that more later. Now, if you're looking for extra help with recruiting, one of the best places to join is the program I run. It's called your first scholarship. And the whole reason of that is simple, that we want help you get your first scholarship and more. We have a full done for you exposure machine that sends out emails and DMS personalized to college coaches so that way you can get in contact with them without no effort on your part at all. You also get full 24. 7 support so you can message me and the rest of my team. So that way you can get any and all of your questions answered, whether it's a how do we respond back to this coach? Or for example, with Twitter posts. One of the best things that you can do is you can just message us what you're going to post or even you can send over the content and ask us like, hey, is this good to post? Is not going to post. What caption should I write for this? And we'll just do it all for you. And then lastly, we give you a full playbook on exactly how to handle each recruiting situation. So, for example, for Twitter, if you, for example, don't want to just rely solely on us, you want to get your own principles and kind of test your own things out. We have an entire playbook of principles, examples, a ton of different stuff. So that way you can just apply it directly to your recruiting. And that isn't just for X. It also goes for camps, talking to coaches, phone calls, junior day visits, any situation you can imagine. We're going to make sure you feel 100% confident in getting your desired outcome. So if that's something you're interested in joining, click the link down below. Now let's get in the video. So the first thing I want to talk talk about is your profile. And this is something that often gets brought up. There's this one great graphic where it's like how to make your profile look recruitable. And so I think that one does a pretty good example. I think that graphic does a pretty good job. But I want to go more in depth into some things that people just don't talk about. So the first thing you want to do is your profile picture. This is a really simple one, but you want it to be a headshot of you. Ideally. Ideally, it doesn't have your helmet on or anything like that. You people want to see your face. I think one of the best profile pictures, and I have a little bit of biases in this is mine. If you. You haven't seen it, it's all over the place. It's here in the YouTube. It's just a good one of me. I'm smiling. It just kind of stands out. It's very high quality. Of course, you're not able. And as well as I'm in pads, I'm in uniform, so that would be like more of the ideal picture. But the whole goal is just you just want a simple picture that shows your face, that shows coaches what you look like. Ideally, it stands out a little bit more. So that way, like if a coach is scrolling, your profile picture happens to stand out and you just look a little bit more professional. Like, for example, maybe you've seen like some players who have like this random action shot of them and it just doesn't stand out as much. And so you want something that's just a little bit more unique, a little brighter stuff like that. Now the second thing is a header. So if you don't know what header is, it's that picture. That's above kind of the entire profile. You want to at least make sure to have something, I usually recommend some kind of like, picture with you, with your team. Just don't leave a blank because it just kills a lot of like the vibe of the profile and maybe like, who the heck cares about that? But there's a lot of vibes going on with a coach just randomly comes across your profile. So this is something actually I really want to talk a lot on is you have to understand that coaches are scanning through your profile. They're not going to get this big intensive look, like maybe your parents would or you would. So they're just looking for a couple key things to make the decision on, hey, are we going to potentially recruit this guy or not? If they're not, they're just going to swipe on to another guy. So you need to make sure that each element of your profile screams that you're kind of guy that they want to recruit. And so this takes me to the next one in the bio. And this is probably one of the most important parts of your entire profile because a coach looks at your bio as kind of like a quick resume. And so you're going to want to make sure that has all the critical information that they need. You don't want to omit anything. You usually don't want to omit anything from there. The general kind of things that you want to have in there is height, weight, your graduation year, your high school, city, state. You can just include that in the locations tab. You also want to include GPA and then position as well. Now a quick little hack on the bio. This is just something that, like, people don't really put a lot of thought into. And again, I think just something that we do so well that gets our family such great results on X is that you want to get precise in the ordering of your bio. See, a lot of people make these mistakes of where like they put at first, they put like their high school in the first, like kind of thing that they mentioned their bio. Then they have like their graduation year. And you may think, like, the order doesn't matter, but it does. And so let me tell you a little bit about like a quick study that I don't know who did it. Maybe I'm completely making this all up, but it is just a bias that humans have is that we read left to right. And so the first thing that a person is going to look at when they look at a bio or they look at a resume, for example, and that's where the study is coming from, that they're going to look at everything from the left first and the stuff to the very right is barely going to get read. And so you want to put your best stuff to the left. Like for example, if you run a 4, 4 40, that is very impressive. So that's the first thing they're going to want to mention, that bio. If you, your GPA is really good and you want that to stand out, that's going to be the first thing you put in your bio. You want the first thing to be in your bio, something that is important. Now, if you don't have any like amazing traits, just include like your graduation year and your position first and that'll get the job done. I also recommend having dividers, like some kind of divider that divides each kind of element in that bio. So like for example, 20, 26 receiver, but you're going to have like a vertical line and then go into the next thing about your height, weight, whatever it is. So that's kind of the bio. I could go more and more into that, but that should give you enough stuff to at least put together a solid bio. Now, next thing I want to talk about is the pinned tweet. And so your pin tweet should be your highlights. It should just be like a link to your highlights. It should be a video version of your highlights. Now you can go get this by doing one of two things. Now first off, do not buy from Huddle. There's no reason to pay that kind of money. You just either need to screen record it on your phone, make sure you're vertically screen recording it, otherwise it'll get into this like weird super small video when you upload it to Twitter. The second thing you could do is my preferred method is that you just go to a website where you can just download the video by pasting in the URL and then it'll give the video. You just paste it directly on Twitter. Usually comes out much high quality that way. So that's my recommended path. So now you've got your profile picture, you got your header, you got your bio, you got your pin tweet all dialed in. What's next? So the two other things I want to talk about is you want to make sure you have your DMS open. This is a big mistake that a lot of recruits make. I don't even know the percentage on it, but I'm going to guess like over half of recruits just don't even have their DMs open, which is just Mind boggling. So it's something in your settings. I don't remember the exact thing, but if you go to your settings and you go to like privacy or something like that, you should be able to unlock your DMs. And so this allows anyone possible to DM. You know, you may be like, why do you want. Because coaches just randomly come across your profile and they don't want to have to wait to DM you, they just want to DM you right then and they may not even follow you. So you want to make sure you're opening up as many avenues as possible to make it as easy as possible for coaches to get a hold of you. And so making sure to open up your DMs is a big part of that. The second thing you want to make sure that you have is that your profile is public. And this, this is crazy to me. Like you need to make sure your profile is public. It should not be protected because then again a coach is not going to request to follow you on X. Have a public profile. Like the, the pros outweigh the cons by like, I don't even know the number. Doesn't matter. So now you have like somewhat of a solid profile. And the last thing I'm going to note on this profile is you want to have a blue check mark, you want to get verified. Now this is the easiest one that you can do that's going to help out your recruiting a ton. Because there's a couple of reasons why you want to get verified. So the first one is status. It just looks cool. People still associate that blue check mark with something special. So like for example, when you're scrolling in your feed, you're just much more likely to see a post with a blue check mark and probably read it than someone without. And so that is going to cause you to stand out just psychologically in people's minds on the timeline. The second part is your posts get boosted because of the blue check mark. So this is literally a way to pay to get more exposure. And the third note is that since Twitter implemented this whole verify thing and that everyone can get verified, they change the default settings on your profile to be that only verified people can DM you. So a lot of college coaches haven't changed this setting. And so that means that by being verified you're able to get access to more inboxes with less competition. And for those reasons it's just a no brainer. It's like eight bucks a month. Just pay it. You can pay the Annual version, you get a discount rate. Just do it. So now you have a solid profile. And that's so important because you get a first impression with the college coaches. Let's talk about a couple other things they can do on X to make sure that you're increasing your chances of getting scholarship offers from coaches. So the next thing is post, because your profile is made up of posts. And as well as it's just a great way to get more exposure, it's going to get exposed to coaches, timelines potentially. And so the first thing is you need to have a minimum volume of content. And what I mean by that is that you need to be posting enough to get the right attention because posting like once every three months is just not going to get done. So you need to be posting bare minimum, like once a week. Really, the more that you post, the better. Like if you post every day, do it. That's just usually not realistic for families, but I do recommend trying to increase that volume as much as possible. The second thing is going to be the quality of the content. So you can't just be posting like crappy stuff, crappy plays all the time. You need to be posting stuff that coaches actually want to see and that's going to wow them. And then just make sure you're mixing up the kind of content that you have. So of course, the best stuff that you probably want to post more than half the time, really probably 80% of the time is tangible film, whether that's stuff at camps, workout clips, film, et cetera, but also trying to incorporate grades, personal life. I just had one athlete that is posting community service posts and it's performing pretty well. Try to mix it up. Coaches don't just want to see you as an athlete, though. That's probably the most important part. Because if you're not a good athlete, you're not going to get recruited. But once you kind of hit that threshold of, you know, being a good enough athlete, you need to find other ways to separate yourself. And so showing different sides of yourself and showing more unique parts of yourself is going to sell coaches and more on why they should take you. Now, what with these posts, should you be tagging coaches? And so a good practice here is you should be tagging some people in these posts. You should never not be tagging anybody in your posts. Now, there's a couple of people that you can tag in post. Number one, you can just tag coaches. Number two, you can tag people that are more likely to engage with the post and get you views from coaches. And so you want people to engage with their posts because simply it just boosts the post to more like people like them or onto their, you know, followers that may be potential coaches. Like, your whole goal is to get this seen by the right people so that we can get recruited to get follows, get DMs and ultimately offers. And so you do want to be tagging people. Just make sure you don't overdo it because there can be negative effects where it just gets a little spammy and that's something you don't want to associate with. There are a ton of coaches on Twitter. Pretty much every coach is on Twitter for the most part. Even Bill Belichick is. And so you're going to want to follow these coaches. It pops up in their notifications. So you get a potential for a fallback as well as it's just good practice to always be following coaches because you know, if they see you're following them, then they know that there's some interest there and you're just more likely to get interest, at least increase the probability they're going to get interest or an offer from the school. Not a huge amount, but just a good practice to do. Now we're going to get into my favorite part, which is DMing college coaches. And so one of my favorite parts of X is just the fact that you can DM coaches. Like, it's such a sweet thing. And so you need to be DMing coaches. Now the bare minimum to me is like you should be DMing like 10 coaches a day, 70 coaches a week. You're going to get to about 280, 300 per month. Those are kind of the bare minimum numbers. And so it is a large volume game. You're probably going to get anywhere between. I mean, right now the percentage response rate is going to decline over time as this just becomes a more sophisticated strategy, you're going to expect a response rate of somewhere between 0.5%. You could potentially get a higher response rate probably closer to 5%. Really that 2 to 5% range is really for the top of the top guys. Obviously, as you go higher in division level. So like Division 1 FBS football, your response rate is going to be drastically lower. Might be closer to that 0.5% versus like if you're DMing Division 3 coaches, there's a very good chance you, you could even get into like the 10% range or 20% range. But again, it's just less competition. They're also more apt to respond to DMs and everything like that. Now, a big part of that and big part of increasing that response rate is following up with coaches and making sure you're sending the right messages to the right coaches. So follow ups are going to more than likely 5x the amount of responses that you get. But as we've seen in our campaigns, that most of the responses are going to come from the third, fourth, fifth even has come from the sixth, seventh message that we sent to a particular coach. So make sure you're not just stopping at one or two. It's usually not going to be enough to grab their attention just because inboxes are getting flooded and so you have a lot of competition there. You just need to constantly reaching out so that eventually you be the one that they check out. Now, when DMing these coaches, you want to make sure to include a link to your film so that way they can evaluate you, include any necessary information. This message should be pretty short, shouldn't be super long. You're not trying to necessarily sell them on you as much as you're trying to sell them on why they should watch your film because that's going to be the most important part. They're not going to respond to you without checking out your film. So as long as you're understanding the goal of the DM is to get them to watch your film and hopefully get a response and then that you're following up consistently and playing the numbers game with that, you should get pretty good results. DMing coaches. So I think that's enough of a yap about Twitter and X and best practices there. Hopefully this gives you ton of good direction on how to go about getting recruited on X, Twitter, whatever the name is. Again, if you're just looking for us to do this all for you and get one on one coaching on how to implement these and how to get actual interest and offers through X, get recruited, all that good stuff. Then you can click the link below, learn more about how we can help. You can book a call with our team. They'll kind of walk you through what we do, how we do it, see if it makes sense and hopefully get you working with us. So I hope to see you inside soon. Hope you got something from this. I'll see you in the next one. Peace.
