Short YouTube commentary by Trenton Luera describing his college recruiting camp experiences. He warns viewers to avoid "mega camps" (events with many schools and large numbers of players) because players get overlooked, receive few reps, and coaches mainly focus on recruits they already know; he recommends attending camps where a coach has shown active interest.

The worst college camp that you could go to. Throughout my recruiting journey, I went through a lot of camps. Some of them were great. I would get a ton of interest and get scholarship offers out of them and it'd be a great time. While others were just a waste of time. Shouldn't I have even gotten in the first place? If you're here, I imagine you've had a lot like the second that I mentioned. So if you're still going through the recruiting process and you're thinking of what camp should I go to this next camp season? The one you should definitely avoid is mega camps. If you don't know what a mega camp is, it's when a bunch of schools show up, like 50 plus. Now you're probably thinking, trent, why would we skip that? There's college coaches all over the place. And this is speaking from someone who's gone to mega camp camps before. And if you've gone to a mega camp, you can testify this, too. You're going to get overlooked. These mega camps have tons of kids, probably close a thousand. You're not going to get enough reps. The coaches are only looking for guys that they're already talking to. So you're going to get all this hype before. Then you're getting offers and whatnot. Then you're going to get there, maybe speak to a couple coaches, which leads to nothing, and then you're just going to be frustrated with the process. So instead, go to camps that actually have interest. The coach is recruiting you and he wants you to go to med camp. Go for it. If not, then save your time and money, fall for more recruiting.
