A coach leads the Great Oak track team through hill sprints: 10 repeats for most runners, 7 for freshmen. Focus on rapid acceleration and ankle-forward lean. After the repeats, a mile jog back and visualization work.
Alright, get up a little bit. Move up a little bit.
Get up to this line up here and see if you can get away. Alright, see if you can catch Shields. Here we go. Runner set, go! You guys take some water up there. It's going to be a little bit warm today for the hill sprints. You guys have 10, except for the freshmen have 7. Make sure as we are going up those hills that you guys are focusing on speed, leaning at the ankles, right? Focusing on getting up there fast. Stay upright. Yeah, stay upright. I don't want you goofing around unless you're pulling on Verdugo. That's okay. You guys can pull on Verdugo. But everybody else, you guys got to be nice to and just get out there and battle it up to the top. File up. We'll do our hill. Mile back, and then we got what? Visualizations. That's right. All right, make it happen. Let's go.
