Uzi Moses examines Noah's silence in the Torah, arguing that Noah failed to pray for his generation even though he knew the flood was coming. Moses sees this omission as a lesson about the power of intercessory prayer to bring redemption.
Chapters
This week's Torah portion is Noah. Noah's behavior had a very negative side to it. There was something in his behavior that we should not learn from. Noah's mistake was that when he knew that the world is about to come to an end and there is a big flood, Noah didn't really care about his generation. Noah did not ask God to spare them. From this, we also learned that for Noah not to pray for his generation is actually a merit. Because of Noah, we now learned the importance of praying for our fellow man. And just by asking for mercy and the well-being of every human being, that will bring us to repent. And that repentance will bring the real and complete redemption. And may it happen now. Thank you for watching.
