Abraham knew God from age three and spent his life spreading that faith. At 75, God commanded him to leave everything behind, marking the true start of his spiritual journey. The speakers say this teaches us to step outside our comfort zones and perform acts of kindness to heal the world.
Chapters
After we read Genesis and the beginning of everything, then we read about Noah and the flood that destroyed everything. This week we're being asked to step outside of our comfort zone and always keep on moving to our ultimate potential as infinite godly beings on a mission to bring the redemption and make it real.
This week's portion, Lech Lecha, brings the story of Abraham, which is also known as the first Israelite.
The sages explain that Avraham knew the Creator from age 3.
After that, he dedicated his whole life to spreading the faith in the Creator.
When Avraham reaches age 75, the Torah is asking him to leave and to go from his land, from his country, from his father's house, to get out of his comfort zone and just to go.
All these years until age 75, the Torah is completely ignoring Avraham.
I mean, he had a path before that, but it's like his life begins when the Creator is commanding him to leave and to step outside himself.
Until that command, Abraham was just like any other person living, living at that time.
But, but he was able, with his intellect and understanding, to know the Creator.
But that wasn't the reason why Abraham was considered the most elevated person of his time.
A true connection with the Creator is not based on human understanding and intellect.
It is a connection similar to a relationship of a father and a son, where the son is an actual part of the father. When the Creator gave Abraham the command to leave, to leave everything, everything he was until that point, and go to the essence of who he truly is or was, the Creator actually elevated him to the level of an Israelite, which is a person who is connected to the Creator in his core essence. It is a connection beyond human understanding and, and, and capacity. And that explains the real connection that we have with our Creator.
It is in our core essence. It is who we are naturally.
The mission of humanity started with the command to Abraham to walk outside of his comfort zone and start healing the world with acts of kindness and good deeds until the ultimate coming of the redemption.
