Whenever we check the direction of any room in the house, whether it is a bathroom or any other room for that matter, you have to stand in the center of the house, and then you have to hold the compass, the magnetic compass, or your phone in your hand. And then you have to see in which direction is the toilet getting pointed. So if when you stand in the center of the house and you see a toilet towards the north side, where the arrow is pointing towards north, that means the toilet is coming in the north zone. So you don't really check the directions of any room by standing inside that room. You have to be standing in the center of the house, and then you have to see what is the direction in which the toilet is going. In fact, you have to divide your house into eight major zones as per where they pass through Shastra, and then you have to see in which zone your toilet is falling.
