In this solo presentation, leadership consultant Walter V. Murray (CPA, DBA, PhD) uses the experience of driving a Tesla Model S to illustrate the power of speed and acceleration in business strategy. He introduces the "here‑to‑there" visual paradigm, which frames strategic leadership as moving from a starting point (ideation) to a destination (implementation) in a matter of seconds. Murray argues that modern organizations operate in a "VUCA fast" environment—volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous—and that the key differentiator between success and mediocrity is the rapid acceleration of strategy execution. To address this, he presents his proprietary P2P 3I4R framework, a step‑by‑step system designed to turn ideas into action quickly. The talk also promotes his brand Accelerate Leadership, his podcast "Acceleration," and his book whose subtitle is "Ideation to Implementation," positioning the framework as the core of his training, coaching, and consulting services that have helped thousands of leaders over the past decades.

So this is not a promo for Elon Musk or Tesla, but Tesla's Model S is fast. Now I should know because I drive one, and I remember my first test drive. That baby shot out of the starting blocks Faster than, what, I don't know, maybe faster than Usain Bolt on his best, fastest day, or maybe faster than Tesla's stock would drop after one of Elon Musk's crazy tweets. You know, he's got those twitchy, tweety fingers, right? Always tweeting something, and whenever he tweets, his stock reacts. Yeah. So I love speed. I love speed. Anybody here love speed? Fast cars, fast money, fast food, fast anything. You know, truth is though, I drive too fast as it is already, but I gotta tell you, the engineers at Tesla gave me a toy that takes my speed and acceleration to a whole nother level. I mean, well, they didn't give it to me. I had to pay for it, right? So yeah, I'm a speed freak. I love speed and acceleration. So much so that the name of my firm is, you guessed it, Accelerate. Accelerate Leadership, Accelerate Strategy and Leadership Incorporated. And my new podcast, Guess what it's called? Yeah, right on cue. It's called Acceleration, the podcast to help leaders and managers accelerate their leadership and their strategy. Yeah. So imagine going from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds. See, at first I couldn't believe the hype, right? I mean, 0 to 60 in 1, 2 seconds. Impossible. But when I test drove the Tesla, the speed and acceleration was simply out of this world. It lived up to the hype. Now, like I said, this is not a promo for Tesla, but what it is, it's a promo for speed and acceleration, especially in business. And leadership. So imagine going from here to there in 2 seconds. Now, I want you to keep that here to there visual in mind. Lock it in visually because it is the basis of my entire leadership and strategy framework. My writing, my speaking, my training and coaching programs that have benefited thousands of leaders over the last 2 or 3 decades, even the way I show up as a leader in my leadership practice, all are driven and undergirded by this here to there paradigm. So lock that in your mind. You got it? Because in the rest of this conversation, I'm going to unpack that here-to-there paradigm of strategic leadership. So I think we could all agree, and most leaders, managers, and owners would definitely agree on one thing, that the world of business strategy and leadership is fast-paced, complex, and volatile. So I call it VUCA fast, right? VUCA fast. Uh, VUCA is an acronym from a military leadership framework that was developed in the late 1980s by the US military to help train their military leaders how to deal with military scenarios that came up on the battlefield, scenarios that were VUCA. In other words, volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. And the world of business and leadership is no different. It is fast-paced. It is volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. And this is why I say that the greatest differentiator between success and mediocrity as a leader, as a senior manager, or business owner The greatest differentiator is the speed and acceleration of strategy implementation, particularly in an environment, a business environment that is VUCA, that is volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. An environment that demands speed and acceleration. And that's where my P2P 3I4R framework comes in. Now I know it sounds like some type of math formula, some algebraic formula or algorithm, right? I, that's just me. I'm a geek like that, right? I'm an accountant. So I like to put things in numbers and letters. And so that's just me, but it's really not that complicated. It really isn't., and we will unpack that. The P2P 3I4R framework. It's a framework that allows you to develop speed in strategic plan implementation. We live in an era where ideas are abundant. Everybody's got a great idea and really have great ideas, but it's not just the quality of these ideas that sets that sets the excellent leaders apart from the average leaders. It's not the greatness of the idea, it's how quickly and effectively you can put them into action. It's the speed and acceleration that matters. In fact, the subtitle of one of my books, you may see a copy of it there in the corner, the subtitle is Ideation to Implementation. The speed from ideation, which is here, to implementation, which is there, that is what matters. So today I'm going to share with you a framework of strategic leadership, how to go fast in the right direction from ideation to implementation strategically, efficiently, and fast. Maybe even faster than you've ever gone before. And again, that's where my P2P 3I4R framework comes in. So want to, want to hear more about it? Well, I knew you would, and I'm glad you asked. So let's dive right in. So the key is not only do you need speed and acceleration to go fast, but leaders have to
