It.
What's going on? I think I could use some water. Should we play something sad?
Should we play something oh so horrible.
It.
Alone again it's been so long since I've been alone my friend and now I'm on my own the end I guess and I suppose. We want out Like a fly flashing light every single sleepless night but when I like a firework if only we could make it work it all works I guess we can I guess we can I guess we can I guess we can I guess we can I guess we can I guess we won't I guess we won't I guess we won't I guess we won't I guess for the first time in my life Got the best broken heart. Alone once more Shutting every open door or any possibility we could see the light hello? Even words unspoken can hurt can hurt can hurt can hurt so much. When your heart is broken.
You can.
Never get too much. I've been realizing I saw the world through roasting glasses and now I'm afraid of the dark or even the next bar It's a time I live my life without you around me and I'm sad we couldn't make it work this time but maybe in another life. In another life. Another life no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. Ah.
I do miss her. Last chord was F major 7. Sounds like this. I was in the key of F so this was like my one chord. And then you can use your open e because E is the. Is the major 7 of F.

Oh.
It'S funny, man. I've. Thank you. Thank you for asking. I appreciate that. It seems like that's. It's a song that people like, so it's a complex relationship with the daw, man. Meaning just like getting the song on the computer, definitely something that I struggled with. You know, I actually. I have a lot of songs I've filled up, you know, like whole concerts, like, hours, you know, at least an hour worth of music, of songs written. But I just, you know, getting into them, getting them into the computer is kind of like a different animal. I'm not as comfortable with the daw. I have a partner, though, who. Who does help me out. But. Yeah, let's do it. Let's do.
Let's do now.
Whatever. I think it's like this.
Since sanctify my mind I've been up too late at night thinking about the scratching, biting in the screaming and lion in the beauty you are. Oh, my life is messy with you here. I can't help but want you close, my dear close enough to see every scar, every blemish and broken. See me truly. Oh, my.
I'm playing it. Actually, my key's a little bit too low. Oh, goodness.
Yeah, it's a sad thing to forget.
Your own songs, man. Oh, thank you, man.
I appreciate it.
Tell me what you guys think about this one. I'll see if I can remember this one.
And I want to meet you.
Yeah, I gotta get my. My freaking.
And I want you to know you show me what it means to be beautiful. I'm learning how to breathe can we be more than just beings meant to be made? Standing there is this the part of me that's holding on? Precious life that won't move on? Let's see the light, the light of love. Love, love. Crazy, crazy love, love, love. Say it, do, do. Love, love, love Crazy, crazy love, love, love Say it do. And I want you to see Though you change my heart you fall so set free the equinox of heart and when my head is high. You've shown me both the brightest day and darkest night and equinox of heart that thin and strong through every Storm goes on and on till we born Storm of love love, love Crazy, crazy love Love, love say it do Love, love, love Crazy, crazy love Love, love say do Y' all are not ready for this bridge so hard to breathe in this world Swimming in eyes to the sky but on the verge of giving in blood Touch your ride from miles away how could I ever take your smile away? Love, love, love Crazy, crazy love love, love they do love, love, love, love.
Ah, nice.
Unless you've seen that on my YouTube moment, it's like a. It's like an unreleased song. So thank you for listening.
Getting a lot of Steve Lacy vibes from the melody and lyrics. Give you the world and love too fast type of eyes.
Thank you, dude. Yeah, dude. Give you the world is definitely one of my favorite Steve songs. For sure. Dude, that is a really special song to me. Daniel Caesar posted that on his story and he was like, song of the year. I totally agree, dude. That comp. That was a real ass composition. I mean, that's one of the reasons why I think Steve Lacey is one of the goats, man. Like, he has really evolved so much as an artist. If you really know his work, you look at where he started with Dark Red and it just makes so much sense, man. Just this idea of learning. You start with something small and you just, like, perfect it. And that's totally what he did with the. Some of his early career. And he's just making so much music and now, dude, he's freaking. He's songwriting like a freaking legend right now. People are gonna look back on this and see the songs that he's writing, and they're gonna be like, damn, he was really on some goat right there. Should I play inside? This was like one of my, like, first songs that I ever learned. Just like on guitar far. Oh, one of the crazy. Dude, this super engine is great. I mean, it's cool because, like, it seems weird, but actually when you break it down, it's pretty simple. Inside, it's just.
It's just.
It's in the key of D. So it goes 2, 5, and then 6. But the 6 is sus. And that's why it's cool. It's like a five over six. And then he goes one, two.
Inside.
Oh, let me start.
Meet me outside of my palace he's.
Got a palace of this flag.
Don'T.
Need no approval Girl, you valid. Let's make out right by my violets. When I do it I'mma close your eyes yeah Inside inside Tell me is it inside inside, inside, inside Tell me, is it inside my darling Inside, inside Tell me, is it inside inside, inside Tell me, is it inside.
It's cool.
I guess you get a pass. I'm kiss your neck and grab your ass. And when I do it I will.
Make it last.
Yeah, yeah inside, inside Tell me is inside my darling Inside inside Tell me, is it inside yeah inside, inside Tell me is it inside my darling Inside inside Remedy is a in inside yeah. No, no, No, no no no no no no no no, no, no, no yeah inside, inside, inside Tell me, is it inside my darling, darling, darling, darling, darling.
O you mind playing Silca de shaka? There's no tour tutorials available. It's like my favorite Steve Lacy produced song. I'll have to check it out. Who's a buy? Silke de Shaka? Yeah.
Never heard of that. I think I'm gonna get my electric out. Give me a second. Feels good. And thank you guys for joining me. It's kind of a lonely world out there, don't you think? I mean, it really can. It really can feel like a lonely world sometimes.
Ride. Yo, dude.
Ride is one of the first ones I learned.
Sa.
Get you in the back seat girl I want you to ride on me baby right on me Speeding down the back street I'm trying to get you in by back seat girl I want you to ride on me baby ride on me I see you when you're looking at me in my rifles baby I drive through this empty road I'm just looking for something to do Ask me if you wanted I want to get food and she said now Then she kissed me on my cheek Next thing you know she was feeling on me I was in the M double O Then she said park my car down the back to. Baby, ride on me Spin down the back street I'm trying to get you in my back seat girl I want you to ride on me, baby Right on.
The second part of Bad Habit.
Dude, do I even remember? I played Bad habit one time at a show that I did. We did a cover. I know. The first part is like.
You can't deny Gemini.
Like.
Oh, yeah. I'm, like, hearing it. I almost have it.
I don't know.
I don't know.
This is.
Oh, God, dude. This is not so. I. I'm, like, so close. He uses, like, a specific voicing for this song. Like, That was my best attempt. I gotta brush up. I gotta brush up, guys. Yeah, Remembering songs is one of those things, for sure. All right, I'm just gonna make something up. Okay.
Sam, Sa. Sam.
How much did I get the guitar sound?
Dude, this thing is a Fender Player Stratocaster. It's pretty amazing, man. I was. I got it for, I think, like 700 bucks. This thing plays like a dream, dude. I got it brand new from. From Guitar center, so I'm sure you could find a cheaper one.
The Player series.
They're freaking awesome, man.
Can I put you on an artist I recently just discovered. He's a mad great guitar. His name is M. Field, and a few songs you might like to him are called Andrew. And the other one is ten is a number. I'm gonna take a screenshot. There you go.
So I'll check that out later. Appreciate it, man. I think someone says.
D.
Sam.
Oh, God, dude.
Sam.
Do you know Mutual Future by Joe? It's another one. So, yeah, Never heard of it. And then yes, Some is fire.
Some is very fire. Oh, yeah. I mean, honestly, it kind of. My music listening right now is kind of just like in a vacuum. I just kind of have like, my very small pool of artists that I listen to, and I just listen to them on repeat. It's actually pretty rare that I listen to new music. I'm not gonna lie. I think there's pluses and minuses to that approach. I think that most people these days are like too much much on the other extreme, where they will switch around music too often, like constantly, like doing playlists and just like listening to so much. But I found that some of my most valuable. Something that's been super valuable to me as like an artist and a creative has been to just like really get into one artist, you know, one album specifically has usually been just like, stay there, sit with it. Really let those songs get absorbed into your subconscious.
Corridos. Corridos. Tumbados.
Okay, I'll do another screenshot so I can see that later. Gosh, it's funny. I'll just play some jazz now. Is Daniel Caesar the one who made me want to play the guitar? I mean, I don't. I wouldn't say he's like the reason, but he was. He was definitely one of my favorite artists. And best part is, like, maybe the first song that I learned on guitar, actually. Best part might just be. And I mean, his. His music has been very influential on me. I cannot, cannot forget Danny C. The boy right there. And so, I mean, I guess in a way he did. I love that. That version that he does of. Of get you. I think. Something like that.
For me.
Kingdoms have fallen angels. None of that would ever make me live.
I see you.
Every time I get a bit inside I feel it.
Who would have thought I'd get you?
And when we're making love Making love Gotta throw it up.
It's like, I'm like, not quite there with that chord. There we go.
And when you first started playing, who was the artist you mimicked a lot before you developed your own sound?
I mean, I think reflective of the tutorials on my channel, Steve Lacy was definitely a huge influence for me. And also, like, the. The reason that there are even tutorials on my channel is because I was listening to Steve Lacy's discography and being like, oh, man, I would love to learn how to play this song. Go on YouTube and there's no tutorial for it. And I'm like, okay, fine, I'll just learn it by ear and then I'll. I'll make the tutorial. That's kind of how it started.
Would you think of yourself as a singer with a great singing voice or one that knows how to use his voice? I'm discovering that there's a difference in both.
I mean, it's funny to drastic. I wouldn't really consider myself either of those things. I wouldn't consider myself a singer with a great singing voice or somebody that knows how to use their voice. I mean, you know, in a way, like, I've really been working my ass off at trying to get better at my voice these last few years. And so it's taken a long time in my own personal journey to. To acknowledge the fact that, like, hey, you know, yes, I do have a beautiful voice, actually, you know, getting comfortable with that fact inside myself, because for a really long time, you know, I really didn't believe that. And now I'm seeing some glimmers and some glimpses of it. And as far as somebody that knows how to use my voice, I mean, dude, I'm just trying, man. When I. If I get a formula to teach people, believe me, you guys will be the first to know. But I'm just trying stuff right now and trying to see what sticks to the wall. Lately, I've been experimenting with this idea. It's called anatomical vocal training. All about just opening up the. The instrumental little bit.
What do you do when you are on the stage and you get nervous?
Need some advice? That's a great question. I mean, if I'm be honest, when. When I. When I hear you ask a question like that, it makes me think that you probably just haven't been on stage that many times there. It's not always the case, cuz, you know, there's some people that have performed a ton in their life and they still get nervous. I mean, one of the things that I like to do practically is like to. To sit and get centered before the performance, right? You know, take some breaths, really feel, you know, being in your body, right? So much of life, we live out here in the mind thinking. But it's really helpful before performance to get into the body. How does the body feel? You know, notice the breathing, get centered, and then, you know, just go out there and play because you did the preparation to that point. And then the other side of that is just preparation, dude. If you are extremely, extremely well prepared, you're just not going to be nervous, man. Even if you were in front of like a million people, but all you had to do was just like, basically walk in a straight line. I'm sure that you'd be able to do it without, you know, feeling absurdly nervous beforehand just because you done it so much. But yeah, try to have fun. I think that's the biggest thing. Don't get in your head. Don't pay attention to the mistakes. Just keep going and put on a good freaking show, man. Don't be reserved in performances, man. Put on a show.
Glad to hear it.
Can you hear.
Can you advise on how a person can go about developing their own singing voice?
Yeah, man. I mean, I would recommend at this stage in my journey, looking at this, this guy. His channel is called voba. It's all about anatomical vocal training and in general, dude, when you start singing well, when you start singing better, I don't think it's gonna feel how you think it's gonna feel. We're all so trapped in this idea of just like shouting and yelling, Shouting and yelling. So as we get to the higher notes, it's like, oh, it hurts. Don't let singing hurt, man. Try to get it up and you know, play with the voice, right? Experiment. Nah, nah, nah. Make ugly, silly, dumb noises with your voice. Just experiment with it and you'll start to develop more of a familiarity with it. I actually kind of need to lighten up a little bit right now. I've been feeling a little bit heavy on the voice, but. Being able to do that is a really great first step up. Like, just be able to do a siren up and down without any breaks. I don't know how to say something that works good. I'm not sure what I mean by. I'm not sure what you mean by, like, say something. All right. Honestly, this has been pretty long. I've been on here for 51 minutes. So thank you guys for joining and I will see you next time, I guess.
