Greetings, beautiful people. Welcome back. Or if this is your first time, welcome. Today we're going to be learning the song by Steve Lacy. It was requested by this person. Thanks. Okay, let's get into it. So the first half is basically what I'm about to show you, but reversed. I don't know how to do that, so I'll just show you how he plays it regularly. And it's literally just that. Okay, this song is in the key of D major. And for those of you who are interested in theory, it's going to be a four, kind of a two, three, three, six chord progression. For those of you that don't know what the hell any of that means, I'm here for you as well. So the first chord is going to be this chord right here, AG Major 7. If you've played any sort of indie guitar or any other Steve Lacy, I'm sure this is a chord that's already familiar to you. And we're going to pick just up and down once for every string. So, so, And so what he actually does on the record is he plays this chord twice in a row. He goes. But the bass player or the bass part is going to a different root note. So you have two options here. You can either play it in a row twice, which is more accurate to the record, but you are missing out on some of the harmony. Or. Or you could do this. So you have your. Which is basically the same top three notes. So you're getting the same chord but just with a different bass note. Now, So this is going to be a E minor 9. So it goes. Or alternatively you could just play this as E minor 7. That's not how he plays it on the record, but it gets across the same idea. And then we're going to go to A F sharp minor 7. This is the three chord in the key of D. And the picking pattern stays the same for all three of these. And the last chord that we need is this one. And this is going to be a B7 chord with the. With the flat 7 on the top. So. So this one's a little tricky to pick because you're gonna have to skip over that A string. But just go slow and I'm sure you guys will be able to get it. So this is the whole loop. And then if you're going to do like with what the bass player actually plays, it'll sound like this. Cool, quick one today. Hope that was helpful. If you guys have any other questions or requests, leave them in the comments. Bye. Bye. What are you still doing here? Go, go, go, go. Learn the song. Okay, fine. Learn one of these two, then get out of here.
