Gatorade made a wearable patch that measures sweat volume through a squiggly line and sodium levels through color changes. After your workout, a phone camera scans it to create a personalized sweat profile based on your body and the conditions you exercised in.

And so after a few iterations, we designed this patch. It's a really lightweight wearable. You wear it on your arm. You then perform an activity. Let's say you go for a 5-mile run. Once you're done with that run, you'll see that these two channels fill up. The first one is the one with the squiggly line is a fluid channel. So that's the amount that you sweat. And then the colored line right here is the composition of your sweat, which is made by a chemical reaction that's based on your sweat and lactic acid. and that is able to tell how much sodium is in your sweat. So once we have those two elements, we use computer vision to take that information off the patch and then turn that into data points. And you use those data points along with some activity information, you know, the weather, how long you're working out, and then also something about yourself, you know, your age, your weight, your height, and you're able to create this sweat profile that tells you exactly what you sweat based on your own body's physiology.
