A footwear developer who worked on luxury European sneakers spent six years creating the Radikal Ecological Sneakers, which are 97% carbon-bio-based and made from 7–9 plant-derived materials plus New Zealand wool, with no plastics or toxic chemicals. The design puts ecology first, human health second, everything else third.
So we come from a footwear background, footwear developing and manufacturing background where we did development of luxury sneakers for European high-end brands. But at one point we said, okay, it's enough of doing this and let's try to use our expertise to try to change the industry from the inside out. And so the only way that we saw going forward and actually changing the industry is leading by example. So, we decided to use our expertise to redesign shoes from the bottom up. And, what we did is we created Radikal Ecological Sneakers. So, a physical manifestation of our vision are the sneakers that we create. So, they are 97% carbon bio-based and our primarily filter how we do anything is ecology first. Human health second, and everything else is third. So, yeah, through a really long process of maybe 6 years, we developed these sneakers that are based on 7 to 9 plant-based materials and New Zealand wool with the goal of creating a sneaker that's zero toxic for nature, zero toxic for humans, but also completely void of plastics and toxic chemicals.
