Amazon's Value Proposition: Never Run Out Of Toilet Paper!

Short video discussion analyzing Amazon’s Dash button through the Value Proposition Canvas. Speakers identify Amazon Prime customers’ jobs (keeping the home running, freeing time for meaningful activities), pains (forgetting or running out of essentials) and gains (peace of mind, convenience), and argue the Dash button relieves pains by enabling one-click reordering of household essentials.
And although we weren't really sure of.
It, this was not an April Fool's prank.
Amazon just showed us what the future.
Of online retailing will look like with the Amazon Dash button.
So let's try to dissect this concept.
Of Amazon Dash button on the Value Proposition canvas. As you know, the value proposition canvas zooms into the customer profile block and the value proposition block of the business model canvas.
So let's look at the customer profile first.
And here we have the Amazon prime customers. What job are they trying to accomplish?
Well, the first job is to get.
Their course done, make sure that the laundry is done, make sure the dishwasher is running, the rooms are vacuumed. In other words, the home is spick and span.
Their second job is really to focus.
On what matters for them when they have time available that they were able to enjoy it with their friends, with their families, to do their own hobbies, but really not to waste their time on stuff that they don't care about.
The pains, which are all the negative.
Outcomes or the negative emotions that our customers experience when they're trying to get a job done. Include things like wasting time on cores.
Or forgetting that you had to get.
Essential products for your home. Another really severe pain that we experience.
Is running out of important things at the wrong time. And I'm pretty sure this visual resonates.
With many of you.
You're in the toilet and there's no.
More toilet paper, or you wake up.
And there's no more coffee or you.
Needed to wear that really nice top tomorrow, but of course you're running out of detergent. These are the kind of pains that we experience and get us really frustrated. One of the gains or the positive outcome that we'd like to see as a result of fulfilling our jobs to be done is really just peace of mind and just as much convenience as possible. Okay, so now let's look at how Amazon is trying to fulfill our customers jobs and how they're trying to address our strongest pains and gains with the Amazon Dash button, a quick reminder of what the product is.
The Amazon Dash button is a physical.
Button that is, sorry, connected to our customer's Amazon account and that can send orders for home essentials in the pain relievers and the gain creators. We really try to articulate how the Amazon Dash button is providing value for customers by targeting their pains and their gains. So one of the key reliever, sorry, one of the key pain reliever here is that thanks to Amazon Dash, we'll never run out of toilet paper anymore.
Or any other essentials.
The geek creator here is that Amazon enables customers to order their essentials in one click, in a seamless process, and to really use the time that they save doing more meaningful stuff.
So here, I just showed you in.
A few minutes how Amazon's value proposition solves critical jobs, pains and gains using the Value proposition canvas.
So now it's your turn. Thanks for watching.
