Excerpt from a YouTube podcast (Innovation Insiders, ep. 6) featuring Edward Bernardon discussing autonomous racing as an innovation platform. Bernardon suggests autonomous racing may not match Formula One's popularity but will serve as a breeding ground for autonomy and safety innovations that analyze driving scenarios and activate autonomy in adverse conditions (e.g., slick roads).

But will. Will autonomous racing become super popular like Formula one? I don't know about that, but it'll certainly be a breeding ground for innovation. And one of the things I think, when. When it comes to autonomous technology, if you go back to safety, even if you're a human, is driving. But if you can analyze the scenarios that are occurring around you, oh, this car is in this position that cars. And that when the roads are slick, the autonomy kicks in.
