You can be selfish and selfless at the same time. A coder pursues personal achievement while a teacher gives knowledge away, and switching between these roles creates a cycle where generosity comes back amplified.

often talk about like selfless selfishness. Like you can still act in your own interest, but do it in a way that benefits other people, kind of the eventual reciprocity that people eventually want to give back to you. So you give them first and you just wait it out. You see how long it takes them and then it comes back to you tenfold. Obviously, it comes back stronger. But that's— coder is the selfish one. The teacher is the selfless one. And I think in oscillating between these 2, I get to be both.
