Email Marketing Strategies for Getting New Patients in a Physical Therapy Clinic

Aaron LeBauer shows how physical therapy clinics can use email autoresponders to convert leads into patients. Set up a series of automated emails triggered when prospects download a resource, personalize them with the recipient's name, and use a service like AWeber or Mailchimp instead of your personal email account to avoid spam filters.

A lot of people aren't ready to buy right away. You kind of have to kind of go to the store a couple times, right, and check it out. You know, you gotta. You gotta look at. You gotta go check out that iPad. You know you want it, you know you're gonna buy it, but you gotta get. What are you gonna justify it? You gotta wait for the right time. You go, okay, well, do I have enough money? Well, you know, we all can find the money for it, but it's like, what are we going to do? So you check it out. Well, you know, one of the other ways to check it out is to get to know me or for you guys to get to know you by. By email. And so that's a big part of attracting patients. The other half is when someone is a patient, like you guys are patients or clients of mine. You got emails about coming to this class tonight. So I've sent you emails to come into this class tonight. But I set them up a while back and I just press go. And they came out at a certain time. So now you guys, now the mystery is gone. You know, that's. And so a lot of this is automated so I can sit down and in an hour I can write out a bunch of emails and schedule them to go out at certain times during the week and create a whole sequence of emails that go out. An autoresponder is something where. And I'll show you again and I'll go over this again, but it's like where you go to my website and you download my resource, the Cash PT Resource Guide. And then I've got a series of emails that follow up with that. And you get emails that are at a certain basis. You also get blog posts. Those are called blog broadcasts. So the blog post, and it goes right out to the email and you get other specials that I'll set up as we go along. And I just do the same thing with my patients or with people who might want to be my patients. So what an autoresponder does is it automates this so you don't have to sit down on Tuesday morning at 9am and write a personal email to everyone. The other thing it does is if I went to Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, and I entered in 500 email addresses and tried to send a message to all of them, it would get flagged as spam. So when you use a service like AWeber, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, ActiveCampaign, Infusionsoft, you use one of these services, the big email hosts know that most of the stuff coming from there is not spam. So it won't flag you as spam. So that's important. So if I want to email, you know, the 50 people I just did a workshop for, if I do it straight from my Gmail, a lot of times I get flagged as spam. But it also share, it can share everyone's email address, etc. This way the autoresponder also makes it a very personal message so I can put a little snippet of code which don't worry about, it's not code, it's nothing you have to come up with. It's a little drop down box but you put it in there like first name and it'll say Dear first name. So it comes to John, it says Dear John and then it goes to Brian, says Dear Brian. It says Dear Aaron, Dear Catherine, dear Gianna, dear Pete. It comes and it's personalized so we can personalize these messages so that they seem very personal and patients love it and they think I'm writing them a personal message. You know, when I'm, you know, in reality I'm in a yoga class, something like that. Let me go in and just, I'm going to share my screen and start to give you guys a little bit of a peek into what this is about.
