In this testimonial, Mandi Fetters Vonderhaar, co‑owner of Active Physical Therapy in Columbus, Ohio, shares how the CashPT Blueprint program helped her transition from a clinician focused solely on insurance‑based revenue to a business owner successfully expanding cash‑pay services. She explains that PT school provided no training in marketing or business operations, leaving her and her clinic uncertain about how to grow the cash side of the practice. After discovering the CashPT Blueprint, she implemented immediate marketing changes—updating the clinic’s website and sending targeted patient emails—based on actionable tips from the course. The online resources and the active Facebook community offered rapid feedback, peer ideas, and support, which she describes as invaluable. Mandi emphasizes the program’s role in teaching her to recognize the value of private‑practice services, identify target patient populations, and develop a sustainable cash‑pay model. She recommends the blueprint especially for new graduates and seasoned clinicians who lack formal business education, highlighting the convenience of on‑demand access and the strength of the community.

Hello, my name is Mandy Fedders Vonderhaar. I've been a physical therapist since 2011. I co own Active Physical Therapy in Columbus, Ohio with Kevin Jones. I have worked here since 2013 but became owner a little over a year ago. As a clinic we were looking for a way to supplement our innovation income instead of just relying on insurance companies to pay us, probably cost and I guess just knowing if it would really help us or not. And it definitely has. We kind of realized that we were trying to grow our cash side of the business but really didn't get any information in school about how to do that. And we didn't really find any other resources for that until we found you. A lot of great resources, a lot of really useful tips that we could implement right away. Taking notes in the course and implementing that day with marketing adjustments to our website, sending out emails to patients. So very constructive tools and then instant features. Feedback on the Facebook page and from other members and of course from you. You're always very quick to respond and easily accessible. Knowing our worth as therapists and a private practice and knowing who to go to for our direct market, like knowing who to target in the population and how specifically to do that, Definitely a benefit to our business. And personally I've learned a lot. And like I said, it's not something you find in a textbook from PT school or anywhere else for that matter. So it was very resourceful to do so. Like I said, I didn't get much business knowledge in PT school. How to do marketing and connect with the community and patients. Eye opening experience I've had in regards to pt. When I got out of PT school I knew I was ready to go and treat patients. But as far as running a business, I was a little clueless. It's been very eye opening. Anyone who wants to do cash PT and I think in particular new grads who are trying to start something new, but also people who have been at practice for a while. Like I said, these are things that no one is teaching us in school or in the day to day clinic that you may have worked in. The blueprint online, the online access to that is great just to be able to go on there at any point in time and access that. But I think the community that you get with the Facebook group is invaluable. You're a wealth of information but everyone on there has a different experience, different specialty and it's good to have those people to go to to kind of bounce ideas off.
