Hi, I'm Aaron Marcus, and this is your weekly video blog. As I had mentioned to you last week, I was going to be doing a lot of traveling. Drove about 1,000 miles, did some workshops in New York, which was great, then headed up to Vermont to spend some time with my daughter. And tomorrow, actually, possibly while you're watching this, I'm going to be heading to Southern Virginia to audition for a feature film. Then I've got a Another film that I'm going to be auditioning for in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, and then Friday I've got a callback for a feature that actually I shot at home. I shot the audition at home in Atlanta, and then I'll be heading back north. So it'll be another 1,000-mile week. I wish I could get some frequent flyer miles for driving, but unfortunately that's not the case. Hey, I'll tell you what I wanted to share with you today. And, and there are 2 things. One of them was, um, I auditioned for a TV show last week, and I don't know about you, but for me, one of the most difficult things to memorize, besides when, when the copy is just difficult, uh, the words sometimes are a little tough, but it's when it's starting, um, a conversation, it pops in outta nowhere. And there's really not a lot of interaction. I find that really difficult. You know, it's one thing when you're talking with somebody and you, you can really understand what they're saying to you, you know what you have to say to them. But when you start off and you just pop in out of nowhere, sometimes with some weird words— and I don't want to mention the words here only because, uh, so far I haven't heard if I've been cast for it, but also the episode hasn't aired yet. And so Anyhow, I don't want to say the exact words, but for this audition, the words were really tough. Pops in out of nowhere. And I was struggling a little bit because I wanted to memorize this one for the audition. The casting director wanted it. So I figured out something that I wanted to share with you that was incredible for me. I was actually a music major in school, and I performed music for 6 years professionally and toured for 6 years. Music and rhythm, it's something that comes pretty naturally— natural for me. So what I did was this: I decided to sing the words to myself. And I don't really understand why it worked, but as soon as I sang it, the words just happened. And so I just wanted to let you know, if you ever run into some sides, a script that is tough for you, Maybe give it a shot. See what happens if you sing it a few times and see if that helps make it make more sense and just flow off your tongue. And so that way, I found that I was just able to remember it much better. So anyhow, I hope that's, that's helpful to you. One other thing that I just wanted to share, I decided that I really want to have a a closer connection with everyone who is receiving my weekly video blogs. And one of the ways of being able to do that is to communicate. And we can do that by— and I'm going to try to do this once a month, and you'll be sent some information separately about this— once a month we're going to get together online and it will be a special session. where we can just talk to each other. And so what I thought would be really good is if you go to my Facebook page, facebook.com/howtomodel, and just leave a comment on the Facebook page. Let me know what questions you have. Let me know what topics you would like to discuss. You know, I'll read them all and I will make sure that at least first, uh, you know, the first one, I'll, I'll, you know, grab as many as I can and discuss it. And it will give you an opportunity to share information. Uh, it'll give me an opportunity to give you information and other people can join it as well. And so I'm really excited about doing that. Look, that, that's why I'm, I'm doing all this. That's why I'm spending the time doing this. It's to help build a great community of people who are really trying to help each other. So anyhow, After my travels and I get a little bit of sleep, I will be back in touch with you next week. But please go to the Facebook page and write your question down on the comment page, and also let me know what topics you would like to discuss as well. If you have any questions, just go to facebook.com/howtomodel, or you can also email me at aaron@howtomodel.com, and you can follow me at twitter.com/aaronrmarcus. Anyhow, have a great week and can't wait to talk with you soon. Bye. Bye.
