Acting Resume | Using Google Voice For Your Personal Phone Number

Hi, my name is Aaron Marcus, America's premier acting and commercial modeling career coach, the founder of HowToModel.com, the author of How to Become a Successful Commercial Model, now in its 5th edition, and I've been making my living as an actor and a commercial model for over 26 years. When it comes to putting your personal phone number on your resume, that's fine, you know, most people do that. There is another alternative that actually somebody who was taking one of my workshops told me about, and I checked into it and I thought, this is incredible, and I want to share it with you. It's an alternative phone number that allows you to be reached by anybody that you want without giving out your personal information, and it's called Google Voice. And the way that this works is you can go to the website and put in your zip code, and you'll get a listing of a few different phone numbers that would be from your area and you can just pick and choose one. It's free. Basically what you do is you use that Google Voice number and then have it forwarded. Any messages that are called to that phone are forwarded to whatever phone you want, whether it's your personal cell phone or your personal home phone. Not only can you get the messages that way but also if you don't pick up, the message that is left will be sent to you in a text format, which is really— it's just incredible. So this is a way if you do not want to give out your personal phone number, you can use the Google Voice number, and you can check that out by going to google.com/voice. So this is just one of the many topics that you're going to be learning at the Resume Secrets Online Workshop. This is going to be a step-by-step step-by-step workshop where I'm going to be teaching you exactly how to put together an incredible resume. I also will be having a special guest, Sean Pratt, who's been an actor and a voiceover talent for many years, as well as a coach and an author who has actually— he's designed classes just on resumes, and you're going to be able to learn from Sean Pratt. He's really incredible. Some of the other things that you're going to be learning in this workshop is how to create the right resume that will grab the attention of the industry professionals in, in a step-by-step fashion, how to avoid the biggest mistakes that actors make in their resume, how to create a resume even if you've never done anything before in your life, and just basically learn the secrets for putting together a format that is used by all industry professionals.
