Aaron Marcus drove 1,000 miles for a callback and walked straight from his car into the audition with a foggy head. He stayed in a hotel and arrived early, but skipped a break. Now he recommends getting out, taking a walk, and breathing deeply before any audition to stay sharp.

Here's another acting and modeling quick tip with me, Aaron Marcus. I recently had a callback for a project and I drove, literally, it was 1,000 miles for this callback. And it was about like 500-some miles each way. And so what I did was I drove, I don't know, about 7 hours the day before, stayed in a hotel, and then had about a 2, 2.5-hour drive the next morning. Got to the callback plenty of time. And here's what I didn't do, I should have, I will do in the future, and something that you should do as well. Uh, got out of my car, went into the casting office, uh, looked over the sides again, and maybe about 15 minutes later went in and read. And what I found was my head just wasn't as sharp as I wanted it to be. I was feeling a little spacey in there. Without a doubt, what I will do in the future for any kind of long drive, I'm gonna get out of my car, I'm gonna take a walk. I need— I wanna clear my head, I'm gonna get some of those cobwebs out. I hadn't breathed fresh air for many, many, many hours, and I felt like it affected my audition. I don't know if that had any effect at all on whether I get the part or don't, but the point is I didn't feel quite as sharp as I wanted to and as I normally do. So if you ever have any kind of long-distance, or even if it's a short-distance drive, and you've just been in the car for a while, or a train, or a bus, or however you're getting there, make sure you get out, take some nice deep breaths outside, get some fresh air flowing through your body, and just go into that audition in a much sharper, clearer way. I'd love to hear if you've ever experienced anything like this. You can share it below. If you're watching this on my Facebook page, please give it a thumbs up, or actually you can like it. If you're watching this on YouTube, give it a thumbs up. And anyhow, I'm Aaron Marcus, and I love sharing this information with you. I hope it's helpful, and I look forward to talking with you again soon.
