In this video, I'm going to be sharing with you why actors have to beware, because if you're thinking this way, you're going to live a miserable life. And trust me, I know from experience. Also, if you watch this to the end, I've got a great bonus video for you. I'm going to share with you a very personal story, how a star was just really nasty and, and just very unprofessional to me on a set, and I'm going to share it with you. Okay, let's get started. Hi, I'm Aaron Marcus, and welcome to the Acting and Modeling Quick Tips channel on the Actor Career Center. And I'm going to be talking about a way that a lot of actors think, and If you continue thinking this way, your life just is not going to be a good one. And I know because I experienced this myself. So look, the acting industry is really hard, and I'm not trying to push you away from it in any way. I mean, I've been doing this for almost 40 years, but it can be really hard for a whole variety of reasons. And one of them is a psychological way of viewing yourself and viewing the industry. And here's, here's what I mean. There are times where actors will feel good about themselves when things are going well. They base how they are doing in this world on their business. And I'm telling you, it's a dangerous way to live. It really is. And I'm going to share a couple different scenarios with you. There are people who go on and have tremendous success. They are very well known. People are asking for autographs, taking selfies. They are stars, and that is what makes them feel good. They surround themselves with yes people, people who would never say anything to them that could be seen as negative, because a lot of times these hangers-on want to continue to have that kind of relationship. They can live a certain lifestyle through their friend, or supposedly their friend. And if you say anything negative to them, you know, hey, you're acting kind of weird, you're not being a nice person anymore, then those people get dropped out of that circle. So just on a little bit of a side note, if you are someone who goes on and has success in the industry, please Remember where you came from. Remember the people who helped you along the way. And also remember, you're just a human being. You know, you're just a person. You're not any better. You're not any worse than anybody else in this world. You happen to be very successful and maybe incredibly wealthy, but you're just a regular person. Now, Taking it away from being a star, if you are someone who starts to feel bad about themselves because you're not getting the representation you want, you feel horrible about yourself because you're not getting the auditions that you want, you feel miserable as a human being and start Doubting your self-worth because you're not booking the jobs that you want, that is a dangerous road to go down. Now, I'm not saying don't be a human. Don't feel bad if you didn't book something that you really wanted. I get it. But that doesn't have any effect on who you are as a person. If you're a good person, whether you work or not, you're still a good person. You know, if you're helpful to others in this world, you're still a beautiful person whether you are booking jobs or not. So I just wanted to share this quick message with you to make sure that you separate your, your self-worth as who you are as a human being and what kind of success you are having or not having in In the industry. So look, if you ever experienced anything like this where you start feeling good or bad about yourself based on, you know, your work, please share it here. I know it's personal, but these are the kinds of things that are so helpful to all of us. And I will make a personal comment, and I'd like to respond to everybody who is willing to share this notice so we can all help each other. Awesome. Also, if you haven't done this yet, please don't, don't forget, subscribe to the channel, click the notification bell so you always know when I upload a new video. I did promise And you'll see the link up here or the little i to click on so you can watch this another personal video, how a star was just really nasty and very unprofessional to me on a set on a movie.
