Hi, I'm Aaron Marcus, and I've been a full-time actor and a commercial model for over 30 years. So far, I've booked over 1,200 jobs. Perhaps you've seen my recurring role on House of Cards, worked on Gotham, Halt and Catch Fire, Mr. Robot, done tons of TV commercials, print jobs. But look, let me tell you what I want to share with you today. It's always a little bit tricky when you have to ask Some specific questions to your agent, especially ones that will cause them to have to work a little bit harder. So I was just in a situation where I had a request for a go-see, and it was a great job. It's paying thousands and thousands of dollars. I really wanted to attend the go-see. The problem is I wasn't available at the time that they had me put down for. So It's a little bit uncomfortable because now I know if I get back in touch with my agent, I'm going to be asking her to call the casting director, seeing if she can change the time around. And it's, it's a drag for them. I mean, they've submitted a lot of people, they already locked this in. But my feeling has always been, look, if you ask in a nice way, then the worst they can do is say no. And so that's exactly what I did. And I explained the situation. I wasn't available at that time. The only time that I could make the go-see would be the very first time that they were seeing people at 9 AM. And I asked if she would mind asking the casting director about that. And she did. And as it turns out, they are now able to see me. My go-see is actually tomorrow. So wish me luck. I really want to book the job. And, you know, and I thanked The agent very much, you know, and I let her know, like, I realize, uh, you need— you know, I'm asking you to do a lot more work than you needed to. I really appreciated you doing this for me. And, um, and she wrote back and she said, no problem, glad to do it. So if you ever have any kind of question, whether it's about changing times, maybe seeing if they can see you a different day, which I also asked, but, uh, they couldn't switch the day, my feeling is Ask in a nice way. If they say no, just thank them, you know, for considering it, and then move on. But you know, if you don't ask, you never—you're never going to know. So anyhow, I hope this was helpful to you.
