I want to tell you about an audition that I had recently, and a lot of times people think, well, if you only have one line in the audition, really, how hard can that be? Like, you just say one line and that's it. Well, let me tell you, sometimes they can be incredibly Incredibly complicated and difficult as well. The one that I had recently, I'm sitting in a car, there are a couple other people, there are conversations that are taking place, and I've got to react to every single person's line in there. And you want to make sure you know where your eyeline is. I mean, if you're talking to somebody else, you're not going to look at— well, normally you never look in the camera anyway unless it's a TV commercial audition. But you got to find a spot where one person is, you got to find a spot where the other person And, you know, the other thing too is you've got to react. And by the way, sometimes people, when they are trying to indicate another person is there for the audition, and they'll look over here. Problem is then it's a profile shot and they can't really see your reaction. The other thing too is you've got to know how are you feeling about the conversation that's taking place. Is there something that, that's said that's intriguing to you? Are you bored out of your mind? Um, There are a lot of steps and a lot of things that can be happening. Now, it's true, there are times you have one line and the important thing is just say the words and get out of there really fast. Um, you know, what can I get for you? You know, would you like another drink? Yeah, you're not going to spend a lot of time with those. But, but when there are things happening and there are changes that are taking place and there are reactions, then you've got to make sure that you're hitting all of those properly. So anyhow, I just wanted to share with you, make sure that you really study the sides well, even if it's only one line. Make sure you know everybody's lines. Um, and look, and that's going to be the case no matter what kind of audition you have. But sometimes people do overlook some of those steps when they think, well, I just got one line, you know, what difference does it make? So anyhow, make sure you treat it like you are the star of the project. Very last thing. As you can imagine, these, these videos take a lot of time to put together, edit, upload.
