Hey, I'm Aaron Marcus. I just got finished auditioning for a TV show back in the 1800s. And so I always like to dress at least appropriately for the auditions. And so that's why I'm looking like this. But hey, let me tell you what I want to share with you today. I'm working on a TV show, actually, the second episode later today. And I had to memorize a fair amount of dialogue, a couple pages. And so one thing that I learned is that you can sit in your room, sit in your chair, stand up in your room and go through lines and think you have it. And then you show up on set or in another kind of atmosphere, a different kind of place. And it feels very different. And you don't have it quite as well memorized as you thought. So here is something that will be a great test for you, a great way of really knowing, do you really know your lines? And it has to do with folding your laundry. So here's what you want to do. You think you've got your lines done, and then what you want to do is Some other task, something— doing laundry is one thing. It could be anything. It could be sweeping. It could be doing dishes, just anything that forces you to concentrate on something else but run your lines. And what I find is, like when I was doing laundry and I was folding it up and I'm doing my lines, that told me very clearly I was on track. I seemed to be getting the lines down pretty well. So a great trick and a great barometer and a great test to see, do you really have your lines? First of all, when you're redoing— you're practicing your lines, do them in another place, whether it's walking outside, maybe you're working outside, just something. Outside of where you have been studying it and something that grabs your attention, something that forces you to think about something else, and then do your lines and see if it just happens. Because if that's the case, you've got your lines down. So I can't wait to get back to the set later today, and maybe I can share the experiences with you as well.
