Aaron Marcus shows how to use HandBrake, a free video compressor, to shrink audition files that are too large for submission portals. He compressed a 140 MB film audition down to fit a 100 MB limit, keeping quality intact. The tool works for acting and modeling submissions.
Hi, my name is Aaron Marcus, and I was just in a situation where I was asked to audition for a feature film from home, and they needed me to upload the audition right away to a specific website. And the problem was the audition was about 140 megabytes, and the maximum that the audition could be was 100 megabytes. So learn about a great program that I want to share with you so that if you ever need to reduce the size of any kind of video or audition, you can do this at absolutely no cost, and it just does a phenomenal job. It is HandBrake, and if you go to handbrake.fr You can download this program free. You can import your audition, export it in a smaller format, and then upload it and send it out. And that can make the difference between booking the job, not booking the job, looking like a professional who can easily do this. And also, it could even help you with modeling if there happens to be a, you know, if they want you to do a video for some reason. Then you have access to a program that will allow you to reduce the size. So anyhow, I hope this was helpful to you. If you know of any other programs that would be really helpful to actors or models, please share it with others. You can do that at the bottom of this video. And if you have any further questions, always feel free to go to my facebook.com/howtomodel page, or you can also go to howtomodel.com and leave me a question. And to read about my latest monthly acting and modeling workshop, online workshop, just go to howtomodel.com and click on workshops. I'm Aaron Marcus. Can't wait to talk with you soon. Bye.
