Hi, I'm Aaron Marcus, and I am the founder of howtomodel.com, and I also have been making my living as an actor and a commercial model for nearly 3 decades now. And this is a great series that I decided to create. It's quick tips for actors and models. The very first episode that I'm going to be sharing with you is preparation for an audition. So let's start off with you are going to be auditioning for a TV show. So you get a phone call or an email from your agent, or you happen to find it out on your own. One of the first things you need to do is watch the show. You've got to be familiar with the show. You need to know who the major characters are. You need to know what is going on, and you also need to know what is the pacing of the show. Do people talk very quickly? Do people talk much slower? What is the interaction? Is it a comedy? Is it a suspenseful kind of series? So make sure you spend time watching this show because you never want to walk into an audition with the casting director and you are going to read with, let's say, Mary. And you say, and so who's, who's Mary? And the casting director says, well, she's the star of the show. You probably don't have that job because the casting director is going to view you as lazy, nonprofessional, someone who didn't do their preparation, didn't do their homework. So the very first tip I want to share with you about preparing for an audition for a television show: watch the show, be very familiar with it.
