In this short vlog, Aaron Marcus explains how a recent East Coast blizzard forced him to pause his usual long workdays in his home office—where he spends 8‑12 hours on acting and modeling tasks such as marketing, headshots, and idea generation. By stepping away to shovel snow and listen to music, he experienced a noticeable boost in energy and focus when he returned to work. He uses this experience to advocate for regular breaks, even brief 15‑20‑minute pauses, to recharge mental batteries and maintain productivity. Aaron ends with a call to action, asking viewers to like, share, and comment with their own refocusing techniques.

Here's another acting and modeling quick tip from me, Aaron Marcus. And you're probably wondering why in the world would a blizzard help someone's acting and/or modeling career? Well, let me tell you how. So I live on the East Coast. We just got hit with a blizzard. And typically, if I'm not on a set, if I'm not auditioning, I am spending anywhere between 8, 9, 10, 11, sometimes 12 hours in my home office and I'm just working. It could be marketing, thinking about headshots, thinking about photos, coming up with ideas, just anything connected to the industry. And when we had the blizzard, I decided to just completely shut down. I had to spend a lot of time outside shoveling, so I was listening to music. And I tell you, it was wonderful just to stop, just stop doing any work connected to the industry. And when I went back and started working yesterday, I just felt that I had this renewed energy. And what it taught me, and I'm going to be using this every day now, Even when I am like super focused on getting work done, I'm going to take breaks throughout the day. I need to just stop, shut down, recharge my batteries, do other things, and then come back and continue to work. And I think that you will find that really helpful as well. So anyhow, I just wanted to share that with you. And I feel a lot more energy after having shut down for a number of days, but really it can just be 15, 20 minutes of thinking about other things. So anyhow, if you are watching this on YouTube, please give it a thumbs up. If you're watching this on Facebook, please like it, share it with all of your friends, whether they're connected to the industry or not. And if you've ever experienced techniques to help you refocus, please share it below so other people can see it as well. I'm Aaron Marcus, and I can't wait to talk with you again soon. Thanks, Aaron.
