Hey, I'm Aaron Marcus, and I've been an actor for over 34 years, and one of the things that I've learned is that it's really essential that you learn all about different aspects of the industry. Something that has been really a lot of fun for me, it's also been very helpful to me, is I now have been hired, I would say, probably about 18 times to cast videos for a couple different companies. And one of the things that's really nice about that is that it gives me an opportunity to get fellow actors jobs, which is always great. It also allows me to, depending on the job itself, the location and things like that, sometimes I can reach out to agents. Some of the agents I know, some of the agents I've never met, and have them submit their talent for projects. And I can tell you A side— another side benefit is I just had a casting and reached out to a bunch of agents, and one of the agents is somebody who I've worked with. All of a sudden, they contacted me yesterday saying, you know, we just submitted you and there's a direct booking. You got it. You're shooting tomorrow. So I don't know if it's a coincidence here. I just reached out to that agent trying to help them get a job for one of their talent. And then they submitted me for something. So who knows? But the point is, learning about other people and other jobs in the industry can be really helpful to you, especially in today's time period. So what I decided to do in this video is I interviewed Jim Ross, who is a DP. He's a director of photography. He's been doing it for over 20 years, and it's a very interesting job. I learned a bunch of things that I just didn't know before. And who knows, you know, maybe this is something that interests you and you might want to look into it further. Or even if you're just an actor on a set, sometimes questions that you might want to ask will go to the DP. You just never know. So in this video, you're going to learn everything from what exactly does a director of photography do, How do you become a director of photography? How do you get experience, you know, doing this kind of work? What kind of equipment are you expected to have? What other aspects of the industry do you know about as far as some of the other people on the set? Even things like how to get jobs on your own as a DP. You know, do you get residuals when you are a DP? And just so much more. So you can use the link below. It's just howtoact.com/dp. ActAndModel.com/DP, and you can order the video.
