Aaron Marcus explains why actors should call instead of email when confused about script details. He describes miscommunicating with a director over email about a confusing line, only to learn on a phone call that it belonged to a different scene. Start with text for simple questions, but pick up the phone when the answer matters.

Here's another acting and modeling quick tip with me, Aaron Marcus. Look, sometimes when you have a question, whether it's about sides, whether it's about a script, whether it's about a job, whether it's about an audition, you can easily send a text, send an email, get the details, and that's wonderful. Sometimes they just don't work. And I was in that situation recently where I booked a feature film And I happened to know the director, so I was comfortable in contacting the director. I sent an email. There was something that just didn't make sense to me about the sequence of some of my dialogue. And so we were going back and forth a little bit via email, and it still just wasn't making sense to me. And I don't want to go into particulars because we haven't shot anything yet and it hasn't been released. So I just decided I need to call this guy. So I set up an appointment, called the guy, got Everything straightened out, and there was miscommunication with the, you know, inside the email. So the point is, if you're ever uncertain about something, yeah, if it's quick, it's easy, sure, send an email, send a text. But if you're finding that you're not getting your question answered, call, because speaking to somebody in person is the only way to be able to really verify what's going on, easily explain, make it seem like you're not being a pain by going back and forth with all these emails. I mean, it took me a second to straighten this thing out. And what I thought was a continuation of a scene which didn't make sense to me was actually a different day. And then it made complete sense. So anyhow, I just wanted to let you know, certainly quick questions, quick answers, Email texts are wonderful tools to use. Sometimes you've got to talk.
