In this video, I'm going to be showing you step by step how you can help market yourself by uploading your acting reel into the signature of your Gmail account. This is a great way to market yourself and let other people see your work. Okay, let's get started. Hi, I'm Aaron Marcus, and welcome to my Acting and Modeling Quick Tips channel, where I help people who are just beginning in the acting and modeling industry and for more experienced actors and models to really take their career to the next level. If you haven't done this yet, don't forget to click the subscribe button and click the bell, the little notification button, so you always know when I upload a new video. And if you like the video, give it a thumbs up. That helps spread the word. I try the best I can to upload 2 videos a month, just depending on my schedule. And always feel free to share these videos with your friends. You can upload them to your social media accounts. And yeah, I'm giving you permission to share this information with other people. Look, as actors and models for that matter, it's essential that we market ourselves. Even if you have an agent, even if you have a manager, you want to get yourself out there and have people know who you are. So here's Here's a little secret that a lot of people just don't know about or they don't think about. But what you want to be doing is promoting yourself every way you possibly can. And a great way to do that is to have your acting reel in the signature of your Gmail account. And, and I'm going to be showing you here how to do this in Gmail. I'm sure there are very similar ways of doing it with whatever email program you use. But I know most people use Gmail. That's what I use. So that's what I'm going to be sharing with you here. And like I said, it's going to be a step-by-step process and you will learn exactly how to do this. And think about it this way, with every email you send, you're going to be marketing yourself. So it's really cool. So here's how you want to do this. Okay, so here's how you're going to be uploading your demo reel into your signature. So what I did was I uploaded it into YouTube. And as you can see here, so here's the video. And then once it's uploaded there, all you need to do is go down to Share, which you can see here. And once you click Share, You can just copy this. So copy this link, just save it in Notepad or in a Word document, doesn't make any difference, but you need this. Okay, so now you've got this. Here's the other thing that I did. I decided to create a thumbnail with this. So what I did was, because I use a Mac, I just do Command+Shift and the number 4, and then that allows me to take a picture of this. Actually, I will move it above here just so I don't get the subscribe and all that kind of stuff in it. So anyhow, you, you can work out the details of that, but that's how you can make a copy of it. Look, this is from House of Cards. You certainly don't need to have the title in the thumbnail because this is your acting reel. So now You've got the link saved and you've got the photo saved that you're going to be using. Okay. So once that is done, your next step is go into your Gmail account. So now I'm in the Gmail account and what you're going to be doing is clicking on the little settings button. And I've already done that so you can see it right here. So once you click on the settings button, It's going to open up this page. You simply scroll down until you see signature. And this is my signature information right in here. See, it says signature on the side, and this is the information that I put in my signature. Completely up to you. I've got my name, uh, I've got SAG-AFTRA because I am a union member. If you're not, I wouldn't put non-union. I would just leave that blank. And I just let people know, um, I am a career coach. I'm the author of this book, How to Become a Successful Actor and Model. Here's my website. Uh, people can friend me on Facebook, and you can follow me on Twitter. You can follow me on Instagram. Here's my IMDb page. I've got a mentoring program where I save 5 days every month and help people have success in the industry. And I also have my YouTube channel listed here as well. And I also have a phone number that people can use to contact me with. So here, here it is. And by the way, this is such a great idea because this way, every time you send out an email, there is somebody who potentially could look at your reel. That's just phenomenal. So what I did was clicked on the— I'm sorry, the Insert Image, this little button. And then I grabbed this image from my desktop because I saved it. Remember, I made a copy from the beginning of my reel. And then I typed in film and TV reel. And then after you do that, You can highlight it and then you simply go to link. Whoops, I just unlinked it. So let me go back in there. I'm going to put link. And then what's the URL? It's what I just saved. That's not it. Uh-oh. Let me go back. See, I'm glad I'm showing this with you, showing this to you, because now I need to go back and get the share. And I want to make sure I copy that. Then let me go back into here. Now I've got it, and this is sending people back to my YouTube channel so they can watch the video. And I click OK. Now it's in here, and then you're just going to scroll down. Don't forget to save changes at the bottom. Okay, so just to summarize things here, what you're going to be doing is uploading your reel into YouTube. After you do that, make a copy of the picture of something, one of the scenes, and you can just do the Command+Shift+4 if you're using a Mac and save it on your desktop. Scroll down a little bit, click Share, grab that link, that YouTube link, And then save that. Then go into your Gmail account, go to settings, find your signature, and you're going to upload the video. You can use that image and then type in below it what this is. You know, if it's your commercial reel or voiceover reel or whatever it is, and then create the link by putting in the YouTube link in there and then scroll down to the bottom. And save it. And this is just an amazing way to market yourself all the time with every email that you send. Hey, so look, just want to remind you, if you haven't done this yet, subscribe, click the bell notification button so you always know when the next video is uploaded, and please give it a thumbs up if you liked the video. Uh, also, once again, I'm giving you permission— share this throughout your community, uh, with your friends, uh, upload it to all your social media platforms. My goal here is to create a place where actors and models and other people in the industry are sharing information with each other. We can learn from each other. We're not competing with each other. We're trying to help each other out. And to me, that seems like a good way to run your business, run your life. So yeah, please share it with as many people as you possibly can. I'm Aaron Marcus, and I can't wait to talk with you again soon. See ya.
