Hi, I'm Aaron Marcus, and welcome to the Acting and Modeling Quick Tips Series. Today I want to talk to you about a horrible situation I ran into with a casting director. So I got an email about an audition for a film, and the subject line just said auditions on Thursday. Got all the information, showed up, and there was nobody else there except for the casting director. I said, "Is everything okay here?" And she said, "Well, everything's fine, but the audition was Wednesday, not today on Thursday." And I looked at her. I said, "I thought in the email it said Thursday." She said, "No, it was Wednesday." And she said, "Yeah, I was kind of surprised you didn't show up." And I said, "Well, look, that's never happened to me before. I could have sworn it was on Thursday." And honestly, I didn't want to start going through my cell phone to check my emails and prove her wrong. I was pretty sure it was. on Thursday. And I just apologized. I said, I'm really sorry. I'm not sure how this happened. And when I got home, I did check and it was for Thursday. That's what she had written. So a couple of things. One is I really did not want to get into a fight. I did not want to start accusing her of being wrong. It just, it seemed like it was going to create too many problems. I liked just saying, hey, I'm really sorry. I have no idea how that happened. And that way we both left on very good terms. One thing I did learn from this, and I will always do in the future whenever I get either an email, a text, a phone call about an audition, especially if it's something I can write back to, I will confirm a date. And so if the audition is for next Tuesday, I will say, great, I will see you next Tuesday at this time. And that way I won't run into this situation again, and hopefully you will never run into that situation. If you are watching this on YouTube, please give it a thumbs up.
