Hi, I'm Aaron Marcus, and here is your Acting and Modeling Weekly Letter. One of the things that's really important for people to know in the industry is the terminology. And quite often things are pretty interchangeable, but there's one thing that you might have heard of, you might not be very familiar with, and I want to make sure that you can actually see it. I'm a visual guy. I like to actually see things, so I'm going to show this to you. And it's called the sides. Now, when you go to a film or a TV audition, you will get sides, and it's the short portion of the script that you are going to be reading for. When you are on a set, you will get the sides handed to you, and let me show you what that actually looks like. Here is a sample of the sides, and not only does it have all of your lines and for all the scenes that are going to be shot, As you can see in here. But on the front, it will have information about the different characters, their names, who's working that day, who's producing, who's writing. It will have a whole list of— it could be everything from what times you're going to be shooting, what times people are getting picked up, what time are they finished working. There's just a lot of information, but this is what it looks like. This is the sides, and this is what I was given when I worked on the NBC show Do No Harm. So anyhow, I just wanted to share that with you. It's important to know if you are auditioning for a TV commercial, typically they call that copy, 'cause it's like copy to an ad. And so when you go in there, you will be given copy. But for feature films and television shows, it's going to be you're getting the sides. So I hope that was helpful to you. And if you have any questions at all, always feel free to email me at aaron@harrisonblumenthal.com. Thank you. Howtomodel.com. Actually, the best place is really going to my facebook.com/howtomodel page, and there I've got a whole group of people from literally around the world answering questions for people, asking questions, and it's just a great community. I'd love to have you help spread the word about the community, so, you know, like the page and send more people there. So anyhow, I'm Aaron Marcus. I look forward to talking with you again next week.
